Okay, heres the rundown.

Just got off the phone to amberley auto. In my whole life I have never met a bigger bunch of amateurs when it comes to mitsi's.

My car mate the grand total of 180kw at the treads.

Sounds weird? Well check this out, its runnin 1.6 bar of boost!

Can someone help me- I need someone who can tune a VR4- properly.

I'm picking the car up tonight.

Why don't you give Jon a ring... I'm sure he could put you to someone... Or.... Give Darren form EVO Rallysport a ring.... He is pretty clued up with 4G63s and VR4s for that matter.....I'm still msn'ing, so ill give you his mobile there.....

Just take it to jon. He'll have the gauges in by the end of the afternoon and probably get a better power figure out of it in the short term :D

Darren however is your man from what i've been told.
 
you need someone who can tune.. i dont think jon has the equipment / experience..

my advice.. call up an autronic expert.. someone with an AWD dyno
or someone who costs quite a bit but makes numbers

no experience with DR DRIFT but aza believes he is good

other people.. ERROL from EFI TECHNOLOGY.. he is quite far though (lilydale).. but he's done chaverz, he tuned for darren (evo auto, did all the evo's), and also did sokki's car...

how much did they end up charging you?
 
not sure, but i'm going to be taking a very close look at what they've done.

this has added insult to injury.

you should have heard what they were saying.

"give it a couple of weeks and we can turn the boost up"

happened to me bro...
its all timing based..
they've upped to boost.. and the only way to get the boost that high is by retarding ignition by ALOT!

your gonna also have shit fuel economy with that setup..

did you pay em? are you gonna pay em?
mitsu tuners are hard to find man..
 
they said it was running ten degrees advanced?

i am going to pay them, for what they've done, but i'm sure theyre going to try and hussle me.

but we all know you cant hussle a hussler. 8)

tuned by anthony rodregez..

tell them he paid 500 bux for an install and tune..

but seriously..
if you aint happy.. just try someone else later..
race it for now (if you want)
you'll run 12's if you drive it right..

or low 13's...
 
i know it's a big hassle, but if you're considering coming to adelaide, what about dropping into jaustech?

they have been tuning jack's car on their awd dyno for quite a while now.. i would say that they would be the most educated workshop as far as 4g63's go.. they have worked on a LOT

honestly, i havent had my car tuned there, as it's stock :roll: :lol: , but two of my mates swear by them.. but obviously jack does because darren is his co-driver..

i know they've got a dynapack dyno (awd).

i'm pretty sure jack's old car doesnt have a motec, but i'll have to check for ya.

it might be worth sending them an email at least

who knows i could be barking up the wrong tree :lol:
when we drove to melbourne at day time, it took us about 7 hours including a stop..

when we drove home it took us almost 12 hours due to a 100km detour :shock:, and we left at 9pm.. not smart :roll:
 
AT THE SPEED LIMIT Adelaide is 8 hours from melbourne via road. Plus petrol stops minus speeding time. (you can go ape on the road once you pass bordertown into sa. SA cop's don't give a shit and there's bugger all patrols).

In vic, the cop patrols are heavy especially near the border. Speed camera's everywhere. Helps to take someone else with you to share the driving. It's -very- monotonous.
 
or you could come to brisbane and see rob at APC, they have 2 9-second lancers there so they know a thing about the mitsus, they also tuned adrians car to 157kw at the wheels with stock turbo

go to Graham Wests, they have a brand spanking new Mainline 4WD Dyno, and Brett the tuner is a ledgend, he is a top tuner, as he has spend the past 4 years researching this Dyno alone, thorugh their association with our club, they have become kinda Misti and also Autronic Specialists, . Brett, is now very good mates with Ray Hall himself, so if brett can work it out,, it will go straight to the man himself.

Jaustech is good, but the Chassis dyno is much cheaper, and very very accurate..

i will be goin there Sat i can ask for u if u want...

i really really think it be worth it...
 
but the question is, do they tune wolf / autronic???

i've spoken to rob.. he says scrap the wolf.. but honestly.. the wolf is better than the haltec ek6 (is that the name??)

functions, usability, controlability etc..

in my opinion wolf is a great computer.. it'll be under motec / autronic but compared to the rest.. its up there..

only problem is finding a competent 4g63 tuner in VIC..

seems like 4g63 owners should cross out amberley.., mikes dyno also..
im gonna try rank rotary one more time.. and maybe anthony..

if APC will attempt with wolf.. ill consider then too
 
A friend took his WRX to Amberley a few years back to get some kind of piggyback device installed. I didn't query him before he went about how they were going to integrate it into the wiring. When I next saw my friend he told me Amberley had just chopped his wiring loom. If I was doing professional installations of piggyback devices I'd use extension plugs and sockets, so it could be removed. If I was going to cut the loom I'd make sure the customer understood before I did it.
 
nah dude they have a hub dyno.. they mite have had a 2WD chassis dyno.. but definatly have a hub dyno.. and charge for it.. its like $150+ for just a power run..

GW.. and turbo tune are the only Chassis 4WD dynos in SA.. and Turbotune sux balls.. to put it bluntly..

and was that question directed at me Baz... if so.. definate on autronic.. and probbaly on wolf..
