Just wondering wat sort of sound systems everyone here has?
I am just about completed my custom boot install, will post pics when done.
but yeh it just got me thinking as to wat everyone else has?

Kenwood 4" up the front, Kenwood 6.5"s in the rear, Pioneer Deck, Clarion 200w amp and Clarion Sub..

Can't remember shit really, but it cost me stuff all and sounds pretty good :D

Old alpine tape deck
6CD Changer (in boot)
Stock front speakers
Infinity 693.1i 's up the back (who needs front speakers +sub :? )
Lanzar 4 x 150WRMS amp in boot

VDO CD3300 CD player
VDO 5" splits in doors 190w
VDO 6" 2 way rears 170w
VDO 4" 2 way in dash 90w

still need to get amp / subs

will be getting

JL 12" w3 sub 400rms
? 4 channel amp to run speakers
mono block to run sub

this is my install so far, carpeting it and wiring within the next week
no idea wat it sounds like yet, im hanging out bad to hear it :D

looks heavy man

wow that is going to look impressive when ur finished, looks heavy though,
u can check out my custom boot install in Members rides, titled My PAJ!!
VDO cd head
2x fusion 6.5 front
2x fusion 6x9 in parcel shelf
2x xplode 12inch subs
2x sony 500w amps, 4 channell
each amp runs a 6x9 and a 12.

i got a complete soundsteam system with a pioneer deh-p1y headunit.. got some 6.5 splits at the front with some soundstream 6x9's at the back and a 350wrms 12inch sub all powered by my 5 channel amp!.. some ppl dislike 5 chan amps but i guess it comes down to taste and style..

my 5 chan amp.. 4x 150rms and 1x 400wrms.. powers everything fine..

my splits at the front..

all doors and boots have been sound deaden so it sound sweet as!

yeh it is heavy, but it doesnt really bother due to the fact that the performance mods and actual power output of my car are standard as they come, if not less due to the AFM being phucked.
but when i do get some performance mods on it, its ok, the whole box just lifts out (difficultly but it does come out in one peice!)

The soundstream amp is all looks.

It's absolutely huge and weighs a ton and for less money you can get two amps that will outperform it and weigh less.

Same shit goes with Alpine. I'm running an Alpine set up. The Dvd headunit has bugs in it. Sometimes, I can't change the tv channel, sometimes, it decides to skip to a new song once it plays the first few seconds of 1 song.....other times, it freezes.........

I'm running an Alpine Type X sub with V12 Amps to run my system. All I say with my experience is that I'm very disappointed with the quality of Alpine products. The sub lacks any serious kick. My ideal setup would be to run a Pioneer DVD head unit, Rockford Amps and Subs.

Alpine is all marketing hype IMHO.

djcharliek u got the right idea, pioneer, rockford fosgate, thats wat i was gonna go for but my bank balance said otherwise

I don't want to be a bitch here or anything...

but if you want pure quality, I suggest you look at pairing focal speakers with eclipse peripherals.

Fosgate does one thing well -> Loud. Their power subs are damned good, but they will distort long before an eclipse titanium series.

I'm not overly interested in headbang factor (DBDrag etc) so I went for quality of sound/clarity. My next stereo will pair up focal speakers (quite simply the best in the business) with eclipse amps/headunit/sub.

Yes, this system is major dollars.

I'm running Focals splits in the front and drivers in the rear. Sound quality is not too bad,but I still miss my Infinity Kappas that I had in my previous ride. I haven't heard that many car audio speakers but IMHO, I've never head any better than the Infinity Kappas for the price.

The next sound install I get done for my next ride will be definately be Alpine free.

It would probably be a combo of Pioneer, Rockford and Boston Acoustics equipment.
