Hi all rvr guys , i was wondering if i could get some info about your diffs and axles ?

Was just wondering about shaft thickness , lenght , and a couple pics of just the shafts on there own ?

Im thinking i might beable to make some kind of hybrid shaft for my vr4 , but cant find any conclusive info on the rvr rear shafts

You want a picture of my shaft? Ha ha ha...
Seriously tho, if you can wait to weekend I'll take some pics and dimensions for you mate.

Haha yes please pics of your shafts would be great , im not sure of the possibilty of this but from what i have seen the rvr rear looks stronger than the vr4

If Ian can't measure his I have a rvr diff and shafts here that I can measure on the weekend. I'm going to pull my vr4 rear out in a few weeks to see if the rvr diff will bolt in too.

Awesome , ive got a full vr4 rear end sitting in my shed and a viscous lsd centre . Im hoping i can built a hybrid rear end and just put the whole thing up in there , its already had 4ws delete done too. My current open vr4 is cluncking like crazy and has massive backlash , so figured its a good time to do it. Ive possibly come across a rvr rear end so hoping itll work

ive been informed the centres are changable , but the housing is not.

Id just like to try something different plus the lack of vr4 gear pisses me off and being the rvr is more readily availible , plus they look stronger.

How many rvr guys here are snapping axles on launches ???

I am running the mechanical LSD from a EVO 3 in my RVR rear with the RVR gears, EVO shafts into RVR outter cups the RVR rear shafts are a little thicker than EVO if that helps. my mate has used VR4 front shafts thy are bigger than EVO,RVR and GSR.

I did notice the shafts bolted at the diff end in the few pics i could find , do the rvr shafts bolt at the hub end also ?

If this seems possible pete how much would you be chasing for the shafts and diff if its lsd ?

The housings look similar from pics to me?
If it won't bolt in ill just get the innards changed. The vr4 inner axles should fit the rvr diff after you pop the inner rvr axle cups out.

The only difference ive noticed in the housings is that the rvr hasnt got the 2 bolt holes in the top like a vr4 , but i guess it could be drilled and have the thread tapped into it.

here is the measurements of a rear shaft from a RVR X3

Shaft thickness is the same as a vr4 , from what i can tell it looks to be same as a vr4 shaft wise so im thinking the the cups could be changed to vr4 to run the rvr shaft
