"sports" ramps

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

just get some planks of wood to decrease the angle on the normal ramps

thats what I do, never had any problems either ....

 $200!!! for a pair of ramps?... wouldnt your money be better spent going toward a low profile floor jack instead?

Or even better, a full set of these wheel dollies:

I can jack the car up, I just prefer not to hold it up on jack stands... seems like a lot of weight to hold on two points, especially since the car is old :D

Ramps are good, gives you good access and height.

The takatas don't seem to be that high, and not really what I want, I want more like your standard 4wd ramps but longer hehe...

I might give the wood a go, sounds like a good idea... how thick/ long is the bit you use?

wood! what hacks!

dad runs a brick paving business so i have an assortment of heights of bricks i can use to pre ramp my ramps

that said i usually hit up the jackstands

Hoist is where its at, (Thanks Dad!) although I do have to jack the car up a tiny bit to get the legs under as it is so low!

You are also forgetting that some suspension components are quite different at full sag, so the ramps help with that kind of operation.

I'd need a bigger jack... the suspension travel is short but not THAT short.. worthwhile idea though, I may look into the biggest jack I can get.

no worries

they're pretty unreliable at that place, (sometimes they have absolute crap, other times it's fine).. but they have some good gear for cheap quite often

usually their trolley jacks are fine
