hey guys,

im curious as to what you all think of different springs...

i did have pedders sports ryders in the car and it was slammed. looked cool but also got me a nice defect notice!

i was speaking to the dude at the suspension/exhaust place today and he suggest king springs progressive rate springs. does anybody know that the deal is with these? what does progressive mean?

can anyone post pics of their car with different springs so that i can take a look?

which are supposedly best for handling?

cheers lads! :)

Mat

Whiteline also sit at a legal height.

Progressive springs are effectively softer then harder. IE: the coils are spaced at different distances in the spring. For general driving they'll only compress about 40% in the "comfort" zone of the spring, and when you corner hard, it'll compress into the harder spring rate area providing proper road holding. It's a bit of a compromise as you'll still get the body roll from the mushy bit.

meh just keep the dumped look mat, just spray your cooler balck and try and quiet the car down somehow. ain't no one gunna book a stock magna!!! :D

It is.
Rear guard to centre bout 280-290
Front guard to centre bout 315-320

These cars rake by about 30mm anyway...so the sill is level

I noticed when I put kings in my vr4 it looks like it was dragging its ass a bit... But as was said the sil seemed level.

I just got my car back... the stock springs are back in it, and fuck it looks ridiculous! It raised about 4 inches I reckon! Can't wait to get the Pedders ones back in!

That car looks hot with the King Springs... how's the ride quality? Are they the super low ones?

yer just kings.
They told me they werent super lows but it sat pretty low. But rode really well. Had whiteline swaybars etc etc too which helped the handling heaps.

This is my evo with pedders and stocko 15's

rear wheel doesn't look like its straight. Might just be weirdness in the photo.

Also, don't those scrub like bitches?

Toe and camber settings etc..
Yes.it sometimes scrubs...Scrubbed through and blew the sidewall out of a tyre before i modified the guard.

*AV Telstar front springs
*Lancer coupe CC rears
The ride is reasonable for the height.
The KYB shocks help, sure it aint a cushy ride like standard, but it hasnt given me the shits yet so it aint too bad.
Good bumpstops help too.

iv got the same setup as jap63 in my vr4 , but iv only got 15's not 9" wide 17's like he does

the car rides & handels as good as stock, with the exception of massive potholes & unavoidable sunken bits of shithouse australian road. its definatly harsher in those situations, but not uncontrolable or dangerous.

normal rims with the correct offset at that height will never scrub

iv got standard kyb fronts & kyb super ssr special (150% stiffer) in the rear. rears come with the car
