Starter relay

Help Support 4GTuner:

There doesn't seem to be a "starter relay" part in the ASA for the HSGR
I thought the ignition switch was wired more or less directly to the solenoid on the starter motor?

An electrical manual for a space runner mentions a starter relay for a diesel powered version
I guess they require this to activate the glow plugs and maybe the diesel takes a bit more "honk"to turn over?

every now and then I turn the ignition key to start and nothing happens . turn the key a few more times and it starts.
This happens with two different starter motors ,one of them brand new.
I figure if it is not the starter motor it has to be the relay.

The only components are the starter with the solonoid built onto the side of it and the ignition switch.
Normally you can change the switch off the back of the ignition barrel so you don't have to change the key.

Also (and more likely) if you have a aftermarket Alarm or immobiliser, it interrupts the circuit to the starter with relays. maybe they are faulty?
