Gday all,

just going through my mind at the moment since my car requires a little convincing to start everytime.

Only thing I can put it to is that because the battery is in the boot, obviously the main positive cable from the battery to the starter motor has gone from a give or take meter to about 3 now.

I know this adds a fair bit more resistance to the line but im wondering if it would or has anyone else notices it make a difference with starting.

If possible also can someone please measure the ohms between the starter and there battery, atleast then if I work of this I can dodge up a smaller line so that the same amperage is available during cranking.

I put my battery in the boot, used the same old RACQ battery and ran a 2gauge wire through to the boot and grounded the negative to the chassis rail and never had any issues yet. Perhaps your battery has a damaged cell or something and isn't giving the starter as much juice as it would like ?

Try running the sense wire from the alternator to the battery.

What Volts are u gettin at battery when the car is at idle

I know you probably checked it but make sure there is no paint under your earth terminal to body. Also keep your earth nice and short.

check the original earth from engine to body is good and run additional cables from block to body.....lots of people forget to upgrade that when moving the battery, that is fine if the original cables are ok....some arent
