All,

I have a 6-bolt block in the Coupe and have kept the U-shaped passenger side engine mount. My current challenge is to remove what's left of the two bolts (they have snapped off) that hold the power-steering pump bracket to the steel bracket which is bolted to the block and provides the two studs for the U-shaped passenger side engine mount to bolt to.

I need to drill then use a thread extractor to get what's left of the bolts out, but I don't want to risk making the situation worse by trying to do it all in the car and would prefer to put the bracket in a vice and work on it with full access and visibility. Is it possible to remove the steel bracket (with the studs!) from the block without having to remove the engine from the car or pull the water-pipe off the front of the block? Are there any bolts which hold the steel bracket to the passenger side of the block?

From what I can see there's about 3 or 4 bolts that hold the bracket to the front of the block, but I don't want to make an assumption, get 80% of the way into it then realise I've bitten off more than I can handle for the moment.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes Shayne. The water pipe has to be removed via 4 bolts on the front of the block. There's just no way of undoing those bolts with the water pipe in the way.
There's only one bolt on the side of it that's easy to remove. It holds a little arm in place. But it depends if you fitted the arm or not anyway.

Yep, just confirmed it in ASA.
4 bolts on the front and a little arm called an 'engine mount stay' on the side :)

SHIT.

Thanks Rob. Going to be alot more mucking around than I originally thought then. To get the water pipe off is a turbo off job.....

Fixed! Beauty of having a removable front end.... was able to pull the radiator out, remove the external wastegate and screamer pipe and passenger side headlamp and access the whole lot. Used a Sutton Extract-it bit, worked really well.
