Hi Guys,

Just wanting peoples opinions... I'm heading O/S for a little while.. 1 - 2 years and i'm trying to decide whether to try and keep my car or to sell if before I go. Car is paid off so wont cost me anything to keep it besides rego..

also anything i need to know if i'm going to keep the car off the road for awhile.. car will be garaged.. your thoughts.....

well if you store it, atleast get someone to turn it over for you once in a while..

personally, if the car owes you nothing - and you don't have financial stability problems ( ie: plane tickets, accom. ) You should store it. As it would be nice to jump back into when you get home :)

i'd store it but get someone to start it up every now and then and take it for a lil spin.. would you still be able to hop in it after 2 years of not touching it?

Well, the way that prices are going down for late model evo's, you could sell your car now, invest the money and come back and buy an EVO 8.

my 2 cents

i'd sell it, enjoy the money while you're overseas... buy something new when you get back. that's what i did before i went overseas...
in my opinion, a car is just a car, easily replacable, some of the stuff you experience overseas will be a once in a lifetime experience.

Where did you go matress? for how long ?

still undecided but am swinging towards selling.. anyone interested in an e5...

still have a few months before I leave.. so some time to decide... just can't seem to bring myself to part with her.. (referring to my car as a female.. sad i know but I can't help myself :D )

I only went away for about 10 weeks, but I was a bit low on cash due to work slowing down and the couple of extra grand from selling my car really helped. It was only an old RX7, I only scored $4500 for it, but that money came in bloody handy.
I went to the UK for about a week, which was damn expensive, especially after I did my back on the second day and couldn't walk - AU$500 doctor's bill.
I also went all around Europe on a Contiki tour.
This is my intinery: http://www.contiki.com/en-AU/Tours/Europe/Ultimate.European/Itinerary.htm
I also went to Malaysia for about 10 days on the way home. We got cheap accomodation and free airfares for flying Malaysian to Heathrow return.
We stayed in Kota Kinabalu for about 5 days and Kuala Lumpur for 4.
I had an awesome time, except for a few relationship issues which I cleared up when I got home
Money is the last thing you want to be worrying about when you're over there, you just want to take it all in and enjoy it as much as you can.
If anyone wants to ask questions about the trip, contiki, see photos, etc. feel free :)
