Its dripping out the bottom of the front timing cover. It makes a puddle under the crank gear. I have replaced the crank seal twice and it looks pretty good and doesnt appear to be leaking. But still when I start it up the drips start in about 2min and dont stop till the engine is off. I pull the timing belt and stuff off and all looks good.
Its not coming from cams and running down the belt and I cant see oil trail down front of oil pump cover.
Im a bit stumped.
I put tape on end of crank when installing seal to protect seal lip.

This is straight after running. You can see the oil under crank shaft. The front area was wiped clean before start up.

Also I pulled the pcv and checked it for suck/no blow. Its ok.
Front cover bolts are ok and I cant feel any grooves on the seal surface with a fingernail.

One day it was fine, next day leaking like brians eyes when he lost his cat

I think im going to paint the area with white paint and reassemble. Im think the oil trail will wash off the white paint and show the leak. Esp on the front of the seal.

It must be the seal.....but thats the second one in it and its tight on the crank and the same size as the one that came out that hasnt leaked till now...

crack in housing?

clean by scrubbing with ajax/jiff ...clean with acetone. Heat with hair dryer and paint with brush so paint is thick. used to work on triumph bikes and you probably remember those for oil leaks.

OR

I have a used pump here

Coming out the seal. The crank is grooved. Going to clip a spring on the next seal.
Speedi sleeve not available in aus so ordered a few from the states. Express 3-6 days

Will have a few extra and the driver for anyone else that needs it.

Might as well mow the lawn now

sohc 93 pumps are different
the auto tensioner is deferent between the two and it bolts through the oil pump housing dohc 93/92's are your only options

The cover is fine brian. Its leaking at the crank seal and the crank has a pretty bad groove in it. Im going to clip the spring in a seal and not push the seal all the way in. See how it goes till the sleeves arrive.
