first they took away turbo cars from you, now from july onwards in Victoria, they limiting you to only 1 passanger!! oh man im glad im not a p plater no more....i guess CRX del sols and n/a MR2s are your friends now P platers!!

Thats the same as in NZ- and that person also has to have had their full licence for 3 years.

Its good I say.

its just further evidence that the Victorian Government are absolutely retarded.

Hear about that new program to lose demerit points by meeting trauma victims and doing driving programs?

hrrm...what kind of driving programs? life the stuff happening at sandown this saturday?! i'll say hello to a trauma victim if it means i get points back

WTF, what kind of moron thought of this idea?

Ok, you limit to one passanger per car.

That just means that...

Instead of 1 car full of 4 people.

We have....

2 cars with 2 people each.

This just means...
A. You've just DOUBLED your chance for more accidents
B. You've just DOUBLED traffic on the road/worse for environment
C. More people will not show P plates
D. More people will drink/driving because they dont want to pay for a taxi but their friends wont give them a lift because of this lame ass rule. Not many young teenagers have money to pay $80 for a taxi to get home. Why dont they offer discount taxi cost if they are going to introduce this lame ass rule?

Gosh whoever thought of this rule was the biggest noob in the history of noobs. Really, I'd love to see some statistic on how this will be a benefit. Its clearly not going to be better, just worse.

Actually, this really pisses me off and im not a P plater.
Was this a state or federal decision here?
Whos in charge of transport/makes these dumb ass rules.

Did you really have to ask? State of course, I swear we have to be the worst state to drive in. Did you happen to catch on the news the mother of one of the boys killed on the west gate? She said the same thing, that she wasn't sure it was such a good idea because it'd mean more cars on the road. Not sure who exactly is the blame though, Brumby announced it but I know there was big support for it from the RACV. Never mind fixing congestion and traffic problems, let's make it even harder to get around on the roads.

I think you need to open up your eyes and look at the big picture.

how many accidents do you see with a P-plater at the wheel, and a whole bunch of the others in the back??

i must admit with lefty.

as he said, more P-platers will be taking the risk of driving under the influence as they can't get a lift and/or can't afford the ridiculous taxi fares.

Also P-platers can still drive M3's  whats faster an E46 M3 or a dihatsu charade turbo?

Doesn't matter what car you're in. colliding into a tree at 100km/hr in any car is lethal.

I seriously dont think that P-platers go out drinking every single night. If they do, then they can afford a taxi. If they want to go out $80 taxi ride away from home, then thats their problem- no one elses!

lol lucky that adelaide has no p rules... well the standard ones about spped limt but it sounds like vic is fked in the head, bloody victorians
and is it a faint fact in the back of ervyones head that al p platers binge drink then drive home? if thats the case in vic then use have some real issues// i say thats a good rule, less ppll in the car to distract the driver who is new to the world of driving..

i think its a good thing, it will take some of the idiots off the road showing off to there mates.

in nz restriced licence drivers (same as p platers here) can only drive between 6am and 10pm and can only carry a passanger if they have there full licence.(what cluts sed)

if ya get caught its a $400 fine and 25 demerits (ya get a total of 100 over 3 years)

how ever it only take 18 months to go from restricted to full licence
(12 months if you do a defensive driving course)

only becuase you never see any other accidents from 53 year old granmother of 4 who cant see her steering wheel let alone the red light coz at the end of the day if it doesnt contain provisional licsened drivers its not news. That or all your victorians cant drive for shit!:p
