Suction kits

I realise that the 1-3 and 4-6,7-9 engines have different orientations. But has anyone tried fitting a later model HKS suction kit to an older car?

Any issue if you don't have the battery (or factory airbox obviously!) in the way?

They are designed for a turbo that faces the opposite way to the early evos so might not work without a lot of mucking around.

No they are round Ian.

The 4-5-6 kit won't work straight out of the box then, with the maf being issue 1. The bov recirc hole will probably face the wrong way too

Cheers guys. Knew they faced the other way (hence the comment in the original post). Don't need to run a MAF due to an aftermarket computer.

The reason I asked about the 4-6, etc intake was that I was watching this youtube video and trying to think of what factory-ish pipe he must have used? Any ideas?

Cheers! Was hoping someone could identify what it was. Looked like a really neat option for if you wanted to keep the stock airbox (eg for less cop attention) but also wanted a much straighter intake path.

Honestly I think that is the Forced Performance Cast Intake tube for a 2nd generation dsm.

I actually was planning on doing this with my car, here is the link.

you can get it with both a recirc or non recirc too!

Oh OK I'm just going off how the recirc comes up right before the mas air. It just looks very similar. Also in for pics
