Thought I'd introduce myself, im a friend of maccavr4's in real life. Decided to join to maybe come on a cruise (if you will accept a rotary :p ).
I drive a series 2 1983 model rx7 with a lot of minor dings, but a freshly rebuilt engine with a large extend port, only other mod is sports exhaust, great fun but I would get killed by vr4's.

Jesse.

nice choice of car mate :)
is it a 12A or 13B? i had a Series II RX7 with a 12A large extend port in it. It was such great fun, but such a hassle with EPA, cops and my (ex) girlfriend's parents complaining about noise. It was fun dropping 3 foot flames on the freeway at night though, you'd get some very interesting looks
are you on ausrotary.com? do you have a carby for your car? look up "stuie" on ausrotary, he makes modified 4 barrell carbies for the rx7 for 13b's and 12a's... similar performance to a 48IDA weber but uses the stock manifold and air-cleaner (stock appearance) and only costs about $350-400 tuned! he's out in cockatoo which is probably about an hour from melbourne. for that price, he will also take you for a lap of the cockatoo race track, ask him about it!
this is my old rotor:

Mat :)

Its a 12a with a lage extend port and fresh rebuild, also has new turbo rotor housing. I am on ausrotary and i have heard about stuie's carbies, they sound great, even supposed to add fuel economy!

Unfortunetely im at uni at the moment so money is pretty rare lol.
Nice 7 you used to own by the way, looks cleaner than mine, my bonnet is faded, and there are some colour matching issues (its in silver), but i care more about the engine at the moment, damn good fun.

Btw i had no idea cockatoo had a racetrack lol.

Also joe-ness by the way im driving it at the moment, i'd say sometime next week? :p nah should be semi- reliable hopefully i dont get epa'd.

That reminds me of somthing that comedian Carl Barron said. When he was young he used to drive an old Volvo, which was the happiest motoring experience of his life....even if he didn't remember much of it.

One day one of his friends said "hey carl, whats that smell??" his reply was "thats the smell of happiness my friend, the smell of happiness"

Reminds me of my old 124 Fiat, I used to have headaches all the time when I drove it recently while the GSR was off the road. I attributed it to the petrol smell and/or the exhaust fumes :(
