Swapping Evo gearbox into GSR... Any tips.

About to swap a Evo1 gearbox and rear LSD into the CC GSR.
I'm getting the evo box, tanfer case, rear lsd and front & rear drive shafts.

Any tips or advice on what to look out for would be great.

Any likely hiccups, mods required, anything that doesnt match up etc.

Is the GSR tailshaft the same or wil i need to find an evo one?

Just trying to be prepared for a quick changeover as there isnt long between now and the next rally!

bolt on bolt off.. UNLESS you have lsd box..

which will require you to use the evo driveshafts..

other then that that its a walk in the park.

Thanks Jon, so you mean if it has a front lsd (i dont think it does) you need to use the matching front driveshafts to suit? Otherwise i just reuse the existing ones?

How can i tell if the front is LSD?

I guess i'll just use the rear shafts that come with the diff anyway.

have a look at the front driver shaft.. passengers side.. if its lsd it should have an extension on the shaft.. ull beable to pick it! if it doesnt id probably still recommend to use the evo shafts as they are probably thicker..

Look on the gboxes barcode no, that will tell you 100% if its LSD or not from factory.... :arrow:

Oh one more thing....

Can i reuse existing clutch?

If it is still ok then yes as early 4g63 and 4g93 use same clutch
