Hey guys, i'm coming up to Sydney for a couple of nights, in a couple of weeks, and am asking for suggestions on where to take my lady friend somewhere special for dinner on both nights, preferably somewhere around the CBD (thats where we're staying) or even at one of the beaches.

She hasn't been to Sydney before, so want to make it a trip to remember (if you know what I mean

)

Pretty much open to types of food- just looking for that special spot that people have been raving about. Mains can cost $25-45, and the place has got to have a decent beverage list.

Thanks in advance- i'm open to suggestions!

I cant remeber mate but doesnt centre point tower have a restaurant?
ive never been but if you want views and a time to remeber i guess that would be the best spot, but more realistically i end up taking the missus out towards darling harbour, there is a tonne of eating places and you are right in the middle of everything..

I enjoy eating out, and after spending years working in hospitality, I have pretty high standards when it comes to service and food!

There's nothing worse than paying good money for food that is really average- especially when you can do better at home!

Its a bit of a 'luck of the draw' when going to a strip that you have never been to- and knowing me, i'd pick the shittiest of the lot! :fuuuuu: Thats why i'm asking for some advice on places to go, that are proven to be winners!

That place looks pretty good Liberoz- definitely on the shortlist! :)

^^^^ Sydney icon at wooloomooloo bay the food is crap but take a walk there if it aint cold or raining

i went to wildfire at the rocks in sydney last saturday night, that was pretty good but it is the higher end cost wise, great views and food though. looks straight over the harbour at the opera house.

there are plenty of decent places in the city for "lady work" but i would be planning/booking ahead if possible.

Cafe Sydney.. Friend is a chef, and he has recommended it too me.. Pretty pricey tho..

Meat & Wine Co @ Darling Harbour is good too...

Umm the Sheraton has a good buffet too...

Hilton was good, but have not eaten there since they renovated..

There are plenty of good places around the rocks.. Italian, and also German .. Louenbrau ...

Even Tony Roma's in Sussex St has some good grub too...

Let me know if ya want more....

cafe sydney for sure - but it is pricey
yum cha at sky garden is good for lunch
mojos at bondi is a good tapas place
have a beer at iceburgs at bondi or a beer at the shangrila or cargo bar - for a great view.

center point restaurant blows - rip off and shit food

go on a harbor cruise - i know it sounds cheesy but if u haven't seen sydney before its great - i took some friends from hawaii on one they loved it.
do it in the day (there is no food by the way just a cruise around sydney harbour) u can pre-book @ captain cook cruises
