hey guys! (posted this in members rides)

i am having a problem with the stock tacho on my nimbus....i wanna use it, instead of the shitty ricer tacho i have there now!

it was originally a distributor type ignition with a single coil but now runnin the vr4 ignition....how do i splice the two together?? im confused on how to do it coz i was trying to get it workin with the ECU output and just havin a wire going directly to the tach input on the back of the dash (basically poking it in every wires input in the back of the cluster LOL!)

but yeah maybe if there is something off the coil i could use or something!

anyway..cheers guys!
:D

i tried for 2 weekends to get my cordia tacho to read the RVR/VR4 twin coil system after i put the RVR engine in.....i was told that the "tach interface module" from any vr4 can be used. but it didnt work for me.

in the end i took it to an auto electricians....they couldnt do it either. incompetent wankers  :x

hahaha man thats shit.....looks like ill have to get a couple of aftermarket gauges that are black and mount em in the others place if i cant do it....but hopefully i can!!

im gonna take it to an auto elec soon to see what he can do! hopefully ill have more luck than u! :D

cheers!

on the coil pack on the 4g63 VR4 engine theres a lil black box with 3 wires yellow, white and red from memory. thats the tach interface module (shown on pick but its been relocated) all you have to do is find that and you should be able to use your old tacho. although the tach's on the nimbus and magna use the same electronics and they decided work whenever they want, unless all 4 TN magnas i'v had just had shit tachos...... but yer find that box and you should be sweet.....
