comon guys, you have to start somewhere and these days are great place to start off in motorsport, no pressure.

good place to see how a car can be improved too- you soon see how a car is on the track.

I finally heard from adam today so I should be a definate goer now even though the tools at beaurepairs wrecked one of my tyres today:fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu:

did a bit more on the car today and should have the brakes on tomorrow:thumbsup:

be it a bit of a half arsed effort it will be nice to get behind a wheel in mild anger again.

me too man, cant wait, should be fun in a rwd too.
wont be overly quick but Im hopeing to get into the low 40s with it but i have no idea how it will handle etc...

but I know it will be FUN

That's my whole intention for the day too - to have FUN. I'm not going to try and set any lap records, but instead use the day as a bit of a shake-down and get used to using real track tyres and the role that tyre pressures and such play.

Will be nice to stretch the Coupe's legs again.

I want to run up at Winton again, but my car is still up on the jackstands. Very soon I'll be back out there.

I'd like to go soon but doubt I will unless I have a tow. It's so far from Melbourne to get stranded, I know thats puts many off it.

you cant go out with the attitude that something will break, just take it easy and feel out the car.

That's it. It's always a risk but that's part of the game. Just get out there and take it easy and whatever happens will happen. There's always a way to deal with it.

We went once in my brothers mechanically standard MX-5 - 1 lap in radiator starts leaking, lucky we got it home

the power delivery in the s13 is light switch but once im in 4th it should be fine haha

it is forcast for 39/40 so it will be nice and warm up there.

there is meant to be a southerly blowing through around midday so it shouldn't be that bad

that was my mate that did that time, I only got 4 laps before the clutch slave popped out the piston, we fixed it and then it died on my mate(over heated igniter =no running engine-then it popped a coolant line on the side of the track because he couldn't restart it), I couldn't even get a full lap in before the brake pedal would go to the floor(I'm a bit hard on brakes). it was fun though,the car had a decent amount of straight line speed but at least we know what to work on now to improve it for next time.

Shayne was having a few small teething issues but I'll let him fill you all in on that.

Yeah, was a great day overall. My "teething issues" involved a small electrical fire in the engine bay and a sparking battery which killed all the electrics in the car only 1 1/2 laps into the first session, but we fixed that in about an hour and a bit and kept going.

It took me a couple of sessions to get some confidence back in myself and the car, but with the new 888s cured in and a competent instructor beside me, I managed to get my PB of a 1.54 lap time :thumbsup:.

The heat was an absolute killer - I could feel the difference it made on the power delivery of the car, it felt a little sluggish but ran very very well overall (once we fixed the electrical issue....)
