Help Support 4GTuner:

come on travman
leave nice and early monday morning and head back monday night

or you can get a place to stay at benella for about $69 for a night

saves the long drive in the morning

thats a fare price for a overnight stay, Ive got some friends in benella to , man your making it hard for me

Is it a rock up and pay kinda thing or is a pre sign up neccesary?
Also what's needed to be deemed track worthy??

you need to pre sign up/pay.

need a fire extinguisher, battery triangle, secondary bonnet restraint.

not much else besides cams/aasa licence and club membership

are fire extinguisher, battery triangle and bonnet restraint compulsory this track day george?

i would say so pete

all pretty easy stuff to arange.

just a strap that bolts under the bonnet and clips to the rad support is fine for a restraint
bunnings fire extinguisher
blue contactg triangle

yeah i have the extinguisher already, and the stickers im pretty sure even race brakes have them in the whole set of stickers..

have you got a picture of that restraint you are talking about?

It's just a loop of something (even an old belt will do) which just ensures your bonnet won't fly up if the catch lets go.

I've been able to do Tampered in the Coupe without a secondary restraint - our OEM latches are double catched anyway.

any cams affiliated club is fine

I am a member of gippsland car club but they are far from the cheapest around.

I have always questioned this as a Mitsu has a secondary restraint from factory, I would think this would come into play with modified cars without the factory bonnet catch n safety.

I think so too John. The factory latches need to pass requirements which ensure the bonnet won't fly off or open under certain impact conditions so they should be more than suitable for this kind of event.

I always think that as an ADDITIONAL precaution a loop of some sort should be employed.

yeah for these days you should get away with the stock bonnet catch setup.

I have just fitted some shoddy old coil overs and a bigger brake master to the silvia
for this weekend in a hope of doing a full lap with out the pedal going to the floor
and not wobbling my way through the sweeper.

mind you its rock hard so it may be skidville instead

dont have an option unfortunatley this time shayne

not looking forward to it thats for sure

I think it may be a slooooooow trip.. first session for me isnt until 10:15 anyway so it should be ok as long as he holds together

Goodluck with it all tomorrow mate.

Just a side question - what's the deal with permits etc for actually driving a car like the S13 up there?
