I’m trying to fit a tdo5 to my 4g93, I’m using my standard manifold and the bold holding on actuator is hitting on the block. My question is how do I get around this?

on the td05 the wastgate actuator has an extra bol hole on it you will have to cut this extra hole off. also on your dump pipe there is a casting tab with a thread in it for the heat shield that needs to be ground off or it may foul the oil filter when going tdo5 on our block i suggest very strongly that you get an oil filter relocation kit. last thing you want is to do some spirited driving get that dump nice and hot and melt the oil filter and get an oil fire.

once the bolt hole is cut off it will be a tight fit but will fit

An easier method is to just slightly grind, that raised section of the block that it hits on, back a few mm to give you the clearance. I did this years ago on my 93t and it worked fine.

Sweet thanx guys. These were the options i was thinking as well as fitting an external wast gate. But i no f i do that i will not plub it bk into the exhust and ill have blue and reds behind me in no time. 1 more question while im on here. Should i open up exhust maifold to suit the tdo5 or is this unnecessary?

I've done the 05 thing on my 93 and yes, it will be very worth the hour or so to open the manifold up to match the turbo. And go see Brian, he is a wealth of 4G knowledge. Nice bloke too :)

Thanks for the compliment George on the knowledge....but mate....Ive been working on the grumpy old C*&% image for a long time...are you saying its not working?

you can get a dump that works as a screamer.....tho unless you have a friend at the pits it probably not a wise choice.

yes for there to be a gain you do need to open up the manifold, will show you where it needs to be opened up when you drop by.

The fox just see's the fox as a friend mate. :)

Damn man that looks great can you do one for me? Mine was supposed to e done when I fist got the td05 put on but I recently found out it wasn't. Not sure how much it makes a difference but I'm sure there is unwanted turbulence/slowing of gasses

Use a factory Subaru wrx oil filter, half the size of the Mitsi one. I don't ever remember cutting the waste gate actuator those.

From kiggly site. He says the oil filters are in bypass really early anyway as they are not big enough. Im going to remote mount a z9 or z32 or maybe 2 of.
Last thing I want is dirty oil through a engine. Especially when it is on song and pulling hard and something goes wrong...

My guess is a decent amount.
Heres a pic of the amount of work/difference in size from many years back when I put the td-05 on my old lancer
