Yeah, I know theres a lot of moving parts in an internal combustion engine.. but I reckon a hydrogen conversion would be more popular than straight out electric cars.. nothing beats the noise.

i love the sound of a petrol car, i duno but i think it would get some used to driving around in a car that makes no 'car related' noises.

Yeah i dont know i think it would be wierd at first but with enough time, i could get used to a hybrid. as long as it isnt one of those shitty Mercedes shopping cart looking things, those are hiddious.

lol common dont be cynical, i love boost and compression engines as much as the next, but you still have to leave room for some economical cars. ever heard the term "Green and Mean"

ever heard the term 10,000 people driving electric cars might give the ozone layer 1 more day of life.. the damage is done and im not being inconsiderate but if were thinking electirc cars can be the future then we have to think about where we get the power from to charge the batterys.
solar - inpracticle
ac - comes from coal, oil or gas, totally reverses the benefit of having an electric car anyway (carbon emissions from making the power)
hyrdoelectric - even more impracticle
hot rock - stupid

something green and mean is a electric engine that draws the amount that a charging device can put out, meaning all thats needed is a start and you drive forever, but in this world nothing is free and my invention can wait until magic is discovered

Im not sure if the Ozone is done and doomed, but just in general it would be nice to breath some fresh air. I mean, you can look at the city (melbourne) from a distance, and when there's no wind, you can see all the smog and shit, it cant really be the good for anyone.

I wouldn't mind a DC motor, it would have alot more torque (max at 0 rpm) at lower rpm's and are alot more efficicent than an engine, but as you said, it really doesnt help if your buring coal, but in places like France they are using nuclear (which imo is the way to go), and California using alot of wind turbines, so its a win win for them.

the smelters who cast these huge huge wind pylons, they definately use huge amounts of energy to melt the steel, and i too believe nuclear is the answer, and shoot the waste into outer space (who cares about whoever else there is)
