Tinting the rear lights

just a question, is tininting the rear lights on my GSR legal?

i dont mean heaps dark but just a nice dark, as ive seen a few different cars with this done and i like...

also if it is, anyone reccomend who can do it and how much $$ ?

my mate did it to his car with the tint spray.. i think if you dont go too dark, it should be fine..

i can do them for ya.....120 bux should do it......whatever tint u want and cops cant tell if its been done cos itll look factory not like that tint spray crap from auto barn

yeh nice mild tint should be fine.

not to mention blotchy and un even

yeh i did it to mine j.....i think the trick is to mask off the actual reverse clear lens and tint the rest then clearcoat it all....ive seen factory bmws like this.....how can a cop argue with that?

Don't try and kid yourself that it's legal :lol:

If you do it "just abit" it looks stupid.

If you do it dark enough to look cool, the lights are no longer bright enough, and someone will likely run into you (if the police don't get you first).

Brighter bulbs will make up for the darker lens though. . .

Once saw someone cover the rear lights with some tights material. Gave a dark look and emitted the light and easily removed.
Not sure I'd ever go down that road though ;-)

my car with it before with 5min home spray job back when the car came with the rice lights

rice lights + 5min spray tint job = a whole lot of fail

Here is my coupe with tinted tail lights, i masked off the reverse and indicator lights so cops wont hassle me i think it looks good, i need to redo them.. over time the paint has faded and started cracking, 2 years it lasted though
