......that is my question.

I am going to be rebuilding my engine. Currently standard internals, td05h-14b, 13psi maks 200kws @ wheels. Engine is in a sigma.

Its going to be a forged bottom end either way. I use the vehicle for street driven fun on the weekends. Short quick bursts of acceleration are what I'm most looking for. Planning on increasing boost and using a 20g turbo.

Should I just rebuild with forged internals or should I go stroker?

Was looking at going with 9.0:1 compression ratio also. Is that ok for a stroker or too high? I know that strokers increase torque at the expense of revability. Is this a good idea for a streeter?

Judging by your user name I suppose you have a 6bolt.
Is this in the sigma already?
Its just they are a pain to get the cas off the back of the head so you can get the engine back far enough.

If money is no issue then the 6bolt is fine. If I was building again it would be a 7bolt esp if going rwd.
And yep would go oem 2.4 crank.

id just go forged internals , big cams and the 20g , im running that in my vr4 with 9.1:1 compression it would be nuts in a sigma !!!

The answer depends on how you like to drive. Rev its ring out, or drive the fat torque band. Generally 2.3lt's will rev to 7500 rpm 2lts 8000+. With a 2.3 the 14b turbo will be rediculusly undersized. I found the 2.3 a great thing. Lots of low down torque, and great to drive.

stock cams should rev to 7000 , bc 272s i run allow me to rev to over 8000 , my 20g comes on at about 3600 and pulls at 8000 still.I guess it comes down to personal preference i cant say what a stroker is like coz ive never driven one but i do know 2ltr with cams and 20g pulls hard.

I run my stroker as a track engine and it revs out to 7000-7500rpm no problems.

A stroker would be awesome for street driving and a 20G would work really well for the low to mid range rpm. I would think running a stock/slightly modified exhaust housing on the turbo though would probably choke up on a stroker and limit top-end power.

A 6-bolt stroker conversion is more involved than a 7-bolt conversion as it requires grinding clearances into areas of the the block and crank bearing caps along with modifying the oil pickup. There's plenty of material on the 'net about this.

Get oem cranks from g4cs sonata. Someone here got one cheap from a crankshaft shop.
There was whole recon 6bolt engines on ebay other month for cheap. Look in the ebay thread for them. One member bought a 2.0 dohc but they had 2.4 as well. Who was it umm betta built engines? Maybe gem engines?
They were na so would need turbo pistons. But they were cheap too.

Go the stroker.
My troll asks: How are gou going to get anywhere near a rb30 or 2jz if you are only 2.0
Naughty troll

I reckon thats it.
Do your own research first and make sure you are happy.

I have not done it. I have a 2.4 g4cs with 6 bolt frankenstien manley rods and 7 bolt wiseco pistons.

Nice price. Freight would be a killer.

My engine builder machined the crank counterbalances for clearance and don't recall any mention of having to mod the oil pickup at al in my 6 bolt.I have had the revs limited to 7200 as it wants to rev higher with 264/270 Kelfordsl

Thanks for the help so far, just the sort of info I needed.

Is this the stroker crank I'm after?

yep thats the one you should take it to crankshaft rebuilders in dandy and get them to offset grind the crank for more stroke and you can use a shorter conrod , check the block clearance and take it all the way, do you do much towing ??? it would make a great tow car :D
