Okay I know this has been asked before, and I'm done searches and I've read probably every post in this section on the subject, BUT I've been getting a lot of mixed information.
I was originally was going to go for either RP Syncromax or Max Gear oil. However, since they are suited for GL-4 & GL-5 and from what I have read that it may improve the smoothness of shifting, but will cause damage to the synchros in the long run.
I came across this post and it seemed to answer most of my questions of what oils to use. http://4gtuner.com/site/showpost.php?p=95425&postcount=41
But still, others on the forum have contradicted the information I found in the links.
Okay so, according to the information i found on the teamrip site and searching in this section I was thinking about going for the following oils for my service.
Transmission = Redline MT-90
Transfer Case = Redline Lightweight Shockproof
Rear Diff = Redline Lightweight Shockproof
This is going to be for my evo 1which is my daily driver/weekend warrior. I need something that isn't going to be too heavy in the winter but still not too thin in the summer during hotter temps.
Would going with what I had mentioned be the most effective way to achieve what I need or is there another route someone with some experience can offer?
Thanks.
