any one tried to shove turbo cams and or entire head on an N/A engine?

it wont really work that well,N/A cams are more aggressive than the turbo ones

thats why if you took the turbo off say a 4g63t it would run like a dog as the compression ratio is different between turbos and N/A

same thing will happen if you put a turbo head minus the turbo onto a N/A

that makes sense, but the turbo head.... whats the difference in valve sizes compared to the n/a? any one got details on these heads?

trying to figure out how to bring an N/A 4g63 to around 150kw+ without turbo (ahahah yer dun kill me guys  ), bringing the compress to around 10:1, basicly just copying a toyota engine design and making one out of a mitsu engine. gonna try and jack the quad throttles from an SR20DET as well.

whats your thoughts guys?

first things first is to find a 4g63 that hasnt shat it self, and the bring all the parts togther. its gonna be hard to find a quad throttles from the sr20 as well but i will document what ever i do for who ever wants to do it them selves later on. and the stock ecu should handle with the other mods except the quad throttles, with a piggy back so should be able to to this on a budget.

either that or i just do a 6g72 N/A conversion on my hg galant, which ever comes first.

I thought of doing this to my Gsr when i had it.
I never did.
Why u ask?

It'd never satisfy me..cos the guy next to me would add another 5psi,and chop me up.

I dont discredit your idea though, itd be a fuking gun car.

If your serious you should start looking at the products made by RPW

www.rpw.com.au

They make stuff for NA Galants..But its basic as you said.

*Start with a j-Spec 4G63..If you can
*Deck the head and get a good headgasket go 10.5:1
*Get cams (im think they offer a grind).Cam gears if your keen.
*4-2-1 Exhaust with EQUAL length runenrs.
*Do the SR throttle bodies!! thatd be awesome.
*Get a fuel computer...(Safc2)
*Custom inlet..Not an autobarn pod with a bit of plastic..I'm talking some trick gear, with cold feeds and sealed box..etc.
*Your Airflow meter may be a handicap...Speak to RPW.
*Then look at your injectors and pump,id say they'd be near out of service at 150 Kw or so. I think theyre only 280cc.
*then if your real keen,Fit an alloy pulley kit.
*Dyno tune the whole package with as much Ignition timing as you can get away with,I ran 14 degrees,it moved better. :D

This is the package i wouldve gone when i had my car.
Bear in mind it was 3-4 k easy spent.
RPW are excellent, they have made a GSR galant pull 200 Flywheel Horsepower.Head porting is a massive gain from the 4G63 Head..But yo'ull pay for it,by the hour too.

Keep me posted

ah yes the guys at RPW are great, but so far away and i'm not paying for something i can fabricate and or do my self. but no dought those guys are off the chain with mitsu engines.

playing with my 4g63 on my galant now, i am basicly maxing out the engine from all the mods i have done to it. every thing you guys can think of to increase power from a 4g n/a, i have already done (using old school techniques from V8's). the only thing left is a custom 4-1 tuned length extractors and this thing should fly. unfortunatly still that will only get me around 115kw give or take the aging of my engine even with the oil additive Bitron.

as for 3-4k on just engine work, for the same price i could import an entire 6g72 n/a and or twin turbo (the turbo nere the fire wall would have to be adjusted a lil) and already have the amount of power i would want but i rather stick to N/A rather then a turbo. and the half cut on ebay Jon is a 6A1# twin turbo and those engines are mounted on the left rather then the right hand side. would need a twin turbo or n/a from a GTO/3000GT and a few mods to my 5m gear box and the thing just slides in i believe.

plans were :
any 4g63 but preferd jap spec N/A
10:1 comp
N/A cam gears on a Turbo head (if the turbo head had bigger valves)
port and polish
4-1 tuned length extractors
2.5" exhaust
cold air intake (already on car)
custom plenum chamber

the original comp should be able to hack all that but it would be at its peak also can get away with all the above on a budget but will have to pay alot for the rest:

sr20 quad throttles
volvo bosch air flow meter and or if i can get away without one
alloy pully kit
Injector up grade
piggy back comp

any more ideas guys?

BUMP

Sorry for the bringing up a dead thread..

but what I wanna know is if I can run a N/A head on the Turbo engine with turbo cams..
