Turbo

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Boost response is typical of most 400whp turbochargers, it has a boost threshold(when the turbo STARTS to make boost) of about 3700rpm.

Thats if you have the 2L motor.

Expect it higher with the 4g93t

But if you keep the revs in the right range you will have a lot of boost :)

Its a great turbo for what its got hidden inside  ....

id be looking at a 16g or 16g/20g hybrid type thing
That sleeper turbo hes looking at is fairly close to that.

Only thing is the internal specs do not get given to you.

Something in the Garrett GT28BB range with an .50A/R would be ideal IMO. You'd need a custom manifold but it'll spool more efficiently, quicker and last longer than any of the Mitsu type turbo hybrids  Every fraction of a second in racing counts so you're gonna need a very efficient turbo.

you don't really need any top end in those sort of events do you?

what sort of power band would you ideally want?

I am looking for 200kw at all 4 wheels.

Needs to be solid mid range.

One hill climb is all 1st and 2nd gear.

yeah, i reckon either the 16g or a td05-20g like the gtpumps one

BCNYA on GalantVR4.org.au had one... if you want his opinion send him a PM or something

So if I stick with the turbo I have what will be required to make 200kw at the wheels?

My EVO III had 150kw with the following
14 psi
Air filter
Fuel Pump
Raising Rate Reg
Twin Dump and 3 inch system.

So what do I do to gain another 50kw?

Cams?
Computer?
Injectors? The other car was over fuelling.

I would just stick with the EVO III TD05 16G, I race my car in the NQ Sprint series and it's an awesome turbo for that event, no lag what so ever and has all the top end I need.
I have run up to 25psi with my turbo (As well as a forged engine) with keeping a rich 11.6:1 AFR with 2 fuel pumps and the OEM 510cc injectors.
I ran 20psi when I ran the 12.2 @111mph, so there is plenty more left in it yet. Could even hi~flow it if you wanted more peformance.
I wouldn't go any more than 16psi with an up-opened engine.
