Tyre Pressure

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Depends on the day,but i run my toyos around 35-36 for 4 lap sprints, after the run they are sitting around 39.

i run about 34 psi back/ 36-38 front for sprints, it depends on the track
how long or short they are and the temp,as wakefeild in winter can get ffffffffu*%ing cold
so a bit more will get them up to temp quicker, but as a rule between 36-38 is a good starting point.

here you go... RULE OF THUMB

a tyre should no increase more than 4 psi in pressure form cold to hot
if it does ... there wasn't enf pressure to start with.

understand? so if you start with 36psi in and after 3 laps it reads 41psi .. 36psi was too low it should be say 38psi to start.

where if start at 36 and end it is 39psi thats good! the aternate is run nitrogen gas you might fine it will increase only 1 or 2 psi

the pressure principle is still the same.

just you might have a tyre that works best at 30psi but if that tyre increases to 39psi the whole Character of the tyre will change, not to mention temps of the tyre.

The other measument rally guys do is measure the temps accross the tyre, to know weather the alignment settings are correct for that particular track, the temps accross the tyre shouldn't be more than 4 degs difference from left middle and right of the surface of the tyre.

this info was straight from the support crews from some of the big teams here in aus.
