Tyre size - fitting 225/50/16s.

I thought I'd start a new thread rather than polluting Doug's thread further :lol:

Is there any chance of fitting these to a GSR? I can get my hands on second hand semi-slicks in this size really cheap through a mate (There are a couple of race series - lotus cup and commodore cup I think - that use this size as a control tyre), so it'd be _very_ handy if I could fit them under the lancer. I've run 215/40/17s before with a +38 offset without any problems in the past, but can't remember how much clearance there was.

Does any one run 225/50/16s? If so, how low is your car? What offset are your wheels?

225 wont fit in the rear unless you alter the rear lower control arms (like rob barac)

Yeah, I've seen the rear control arms modified before, Mick's done a few cars like that (had 255s under one), but apparently it doesn't do much for the handling. I guess I'll stick to 205/215s
