hey guys

how are the mods comming along??

i saw dino today at tropic motors, u finish the turbo gasket changeover??
hope its boosting nicely now!!
does this mean another tune up??

well my car is finally out of the workshop, and into another..
my mates and i have started our own shop,
sokki - s14
bao - dc2 jspec
myself - vr4

anyway, i managed to get some brake fluid into my brake lines (non abs) it works very nicely now, MOTUS 5.1 oil. only 2 bottles to fill up the system!! fully bled and all!!.. is that normal??
i've got 4 bottles spare!

also managed to change the rear diff oil - some motul lsd type 2 oil. damn thick stuff!! took forever to fill.. old oil was black, new oil was blue.. lol

also got my power steering pump working (electric).. figured out all the wires.. after a bit of experimenting.. works nicely also!! its very very light though.. although i dont have the engine running, i am able to use my power steering which is wierd.. ill probably make a switch so i can turn it on / off.. racing = off.. street = on

i also recieved my awd fidanza flywheel, i previously had the fwd flywheel which doesn't fit!! ring gear is bigger, anyways, that is now on.. balanced and all!.. clutch is on, pressure plate is on.. i ended up snapping a clutch pressure plate bolt, over torqued the sucker!.. i think my torque wrench is off...

after fitting the flywheel / clutch, i went to open the gearbox to install the centre lsd.. bad decision, i ended up chipping 5th gear!.. the gears are very very very brittle so i suggest that u leave it to a pro!!.. i tried with a gear puller, i tried with screw drivers, no matter what i did it chipped a tooth, by the end of the attempt, i had around 5 chips!!.. say good bye to my gear 5.. i then decided to take it over to a guy across the street from our workshop (ANDREW PANNAM <-------- wrx rally dude) he helped me out and will be taking it to get built with a front lsd installed and centre spool installed also..

the spool i put together myself, i took some photos, i could do a writeup since there aren't any out there.. but depends on time.. plus i dont think us Aussies will really make much use of it, due to the spool being unpopular here..

Anyway, its nearly there, when i get my gearbox back i'll be bolting it on, and finishing off the exhaust, then it'll be towed to the tuner and once again i'll be driving it!!

new paint will then be applied once its all running.. so no more pushing

Anyway, just thought i'd update you all on my ride..

ill post some pics soon

Just trying to find a specific gas tank manufactured by APA industries. Whole world seems to be out of stock and APA isn't doing a production run yet.

Everything else for the conversion is waiting, including all the custom brackets excluding the actual tank mounts.

Twin piston front brakes go on next week or the week after.

Whiteline Rear adjustable sway bar, panhard rod and nolathene bush's would be fitted in the next couple of days and I should be boosting by the end of this week. :D
Happy days...

nothing

windscreen wipers not working properly and petrol prices going through the roof

Picked up my car from VR4PWR's tonight, theres a few things that need to be finished off like the vinyl on the sub box and boot floor, but here's a pic of the back of the box.....

udata.jpg

I gotta say, for 1 12" sub, it goes pretty damn hard- all I gotta do is figure out how to stop the rattles!!

Big thanks goes out to Arthur (VR4PWR) he definatly knows what he's on about!!

Clutch and flywheel are sitting here waiting to go in, baz- is the part number on your new flywheel #161691?

sweet!

Na, probly took themselves for a ride: who could resist??? :p

Jase, how does it go? "YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT"

and you- dan! :D

Jstyle, whats up with you dawg :?: :?: :?: :?:

djcharliek- TE37's on the E8? I know some girls that want to be your best friend!

yeah i know

i've been riding more and more... losing interest in cars every time i put a tank of petty in..

two weeks time dad's shed should be good to go so i will do some work on it then (wipers, front camber, gear shifter adjustment (hopefully i can sort it out with that))

but big turbo.. i just don't know. :?

bazeng, nice work, love the images... i used to follow ur build on another forum...

there was one thing that intreged me. the electronic power steering pump, i did not know that existed... where did you get that from??? if u dont mind me asking?

hey boost lover

i know what forum ur talking about
i just felt there was no need to share any info on that forum anymore due to the past events on that occurred, it didn't feel like home anymore..

as for the electric p/s pump..
there are a few cars that have em.. eg. mr2 turbo (engine in the rear).. im assuming porchese might have them also, nsx's etc..

they are not cheap, but at least i have the choice of turning it on / off.. (parking reasons ?? track maybe??)

but as for 1/4 mile, it'll be off for sure..

the hardest part was finding the wiring and bracketing it up,
you may have noticed but the ABS unit should be there, so unless you've got some room in your engine bay, you may have to be a little creative!

another possibility of mounting is where the air box usually goes..

the only belt in actually running is the alternator belt!..
no water pump , no air con, no power steering

i hope it actually does make a difference

i dont know what happened between the other club, and members of this club, but i rather not know. i feel there was disputes here and there, but anyway, who cares :) here for the cars.

of course it will be better, thats y i am fascinated. less drag on the motor the better, hence why ppl put them light weight aluminum wheels for the belts of the engine..

hmmm, did you hook it up yourself? when i saw the photo i noticed you took out the abs (i assumed u put normal non abs lines in), but i love that touch of the power steering... especially the switch idea, thats GOLD..

im very curious how it goes. keep us informed. good work..

yep
did it all myself

always willing to try something different..
ill be sure to let everybody know how it goes, when i can get the car running =)

thanks for the interest.

Cars are looking great guys

I am getting my Customer Radiator back this week, and also ordering my new clutch from OS Giken.
Few more things to bolt onto the engine and then we can out the engine into the car and start fabricating all the nice and shinny things LoL 8)

Lol @ Baz..

Car looks great mate, looking forward to seeing the finished product in the flesh!
Tell us more about the workshop you are going to start?

Hey.. what can I say about my ass? I work out! ;)

Nah... car is still at Tropic, got both gaskets, started refitting manifold to head with the new Coventry cone-lock nuts and nord lock washers, and two of the studs decided to strip the thread in the head

So much for driving it home Sat arvo, left the car there, and Will is drilling the holes out and heli-coiling them so I can re fit! Ah the joys of a simple manifold gasket replacement!

Will more than likely go there tomorrow morning, and fit it all back up before work, probably a 6:30am start for me! :)

OFFON-4, sounds great! Have you got a spec list up in 'rides' section? Very keen to see your plans.

Will post something up soon, just finailising a few bits and pieces. Once thats done i will take a few pics and do a small write up on my biatch

Well ive been working too hard to do much. My exhaust housing is apparently in the country, Im still waiting on my turbo and I picked up my oil cooler and lines yesterday (now i guess i just need to find an oil filter relocation kit). I might order my rods and pistons this week, depending on how much customs want to charge for the housing.
Im also looking into having some exhaust manifolds made :D
Oh and Ive got to get around to taking some pics for Dre

well basically we have the chance to use a warehouse for a period of time (family owned) so we're gonna give it a shot. The 3 of us have had decent exposure to cars, myself with my vr4 and other cars.. also working at the panel beaters

bao, used to work for BMT, he's who i refer to as the HONDA KING.. he's done heaps of conversions, he himself has a dc2 jspec with a fully built motor... emphasised on track, not drag.

sokki has the purple beast, his dad is a mechanic, also he's got skills with web design etc, so he'll be applying his skills towards the promotion / sales side of things..

i've basically been doing alot of services for friends / friends of friends etc and so has bao, so we're basically going for it..

anyway, ill let you know when we settle down, maybe have a cruise or something

anyway
update on mine, ordered my kaaz lsd , expecting it tommorrow
hopefully my box will be complete by the end of the week!..

the last piece of the puzzle!

hmmmmm. i wonder what happened to that t4g drag day?? *COUGH* JSTYLE!!
