I'm not on here much guys, but if you reach a conclusion on a group buy, so long as the prices are reasonable (not thousands), I would be interested.

Might be able to help on the freight side as my parents are in Europe quite a bit. Might be able to bring it all over some how.

I'm interested to see where this goes also, i'm currently looking at albins or something from Modena. Not sure how stock internals would go in an enduro setup though...
Can anyone confirm if Modena are making gearsets for early evos?

This is a pic from a link that Tim (BRISVR4) put up in Georges thread [so we don't spam Georges thread lol].
If this guy is making 3rd, 4th, centre diffs and more then ought to be checked out.

if i recall correctly the main problem at the moment is that he needs the parts (or the diff at least) which adds a bit to the over all cost.

Also being straight cut they would be quite noisy for a road car (sweet for track though)

Do you know him Brian? I'm thinking of going this option for my new gearbox build and am keen to hear what the costs and timing are like.

I might jump in too guys for a 4th gear upgrade only - we can split the costs up?
Although I do know that you can also kill 3rd gear - probably more of a result if your centre diff fails internally and seizes, therefore seizing the centre diff and stripping 3rd gear and 3rd gear intermediate.
Depending on cost, might go 3rd gear & centre upgrade too? but I reckon it'll be a big step up in $$ for the extra work over just a 4th gear upgrade.
Shayne can you keep me in the loop? Im not a member of that forum. cheers.

Cut and pasted from Matthias' s last reply..

with 4th gear upgrate you have a slight noise when driving in other gears,in the 4th gear you can hear the straight cut but its not to loud,at higher speed the noise go also higher and you can't hear the noise now.conversation or radio in the car are no problem;-)with enginebrake you hear a rattle sound.with 3th/4th gear upgrate you have the straight cut noise in every gear and 3th/4th are a bit louder.with enginebrake its a loud rattle, but without problems.shifting is like stock gears, i use the stock synchrorings and slider.i have test this gearupgrate with 900+hp over 10000km without geartheeth fail.we have test the gears also in other 3 cars, opel with f28gearbox 3th4th and 6th gear, all 3 cars drive with over 700hp without geardefects.i can build also a 5th gear with stock ratio or special ratio for the builds i need really the shaft and the gear, the other bits like sync rings or center diff you can self upgrate for the gears, that are better for delivery costs like USA or Ausralia ect.only the 4th gear upgrate cost around 700euro3th/4th with centerdiff geartheeth cost 1500euro5th gear cost 400euroit is also possible to build 1th/2th and inlet shaft in bigger like evo 4-9 but its very expensiveor other ratiosbuild for single or double synchrosalso we can build gears for other gearbox hope i have answered all questionsand sorry for my english ;-)

I suppose $2500 AUD aint so bad for doggy style 3rd, 4th and centre diff upgrade including shipping.
He mentioned there is a LOUD 'rattle' sound with the 3rd / 4th / Centre diff upgrade. I wonder if that's more emphasised because of his multi plate clutch and the vibrations through the input shaft?. If not, then it might be a turn off for some of the more street registered cars because the centre diff is constantly spinning as its driven off 3rd gear intermediate. The noise and 'rattle' will constantly be there 100% of the time. Plus our main focus is upgrading that damn 4th gear! lol
I can understand the box will have minor noise if only 4th gear was upgraded and not engaged. As 4th gear just spins against the intermediate shaft all the time there's no load on it until you actually shift into 4th gear and then the noise will increase.
Just the 4th gear upgrade at 700EU ($1000AU) plus shipping (say $200 there and back) sounds pretty reasonable considering when you strip the oem 4th gear, all the teeth go flying throughout the gearbox and causes a lot of destruction that ends up with having to purchase another entire gearbox anyway, only to kill your next gearbox again and the viscous cycle continues. For $1200AU it's worth doing IMO.
Im up for a 4th gear upgrade then :)
I also have a spare intermediate shaft here with a couple small chips on the teeth of 3rd and 4th. So it'll only be good to send to Germany for the 3rd/4th upgrade as he's only going to remove the teeth off the shaft anyway to fit the new dog gears on [saves modifying a perfectly good oem intermediate shaft].

Hi Matthias, its good of you to chime in, Im Rob. :)
Just a few questions please:
1. Can you provide a bit more explanation about the 'rattle' sound you are hearing with the 3rd/4th/centre diff upgrade? Do you suspect it to be driveline chatter from the input shaft/ clutch assembly when downshifting and braking rather than from say rattling or backlash of the tooth engagement or synchros of the gears not under load?
2. Its good that you can still use the EVO III hub, 3rd/4th slider and double synchro rings with the dog gear upgrade. Is it relatively easy to shift into the gears above 7000rpm without crunching?
3. You check and re-balance the intermediate shaft after fitting the new dog gears on the shaft don't you?
4. What is the usual turn around timeframe from when you receive the parts from a customer, perform the conversion work and then return the item by post?
5. What are your payment options? Paypal, Western Union, other?
Thanks

I don't understand all what you write but I would answear all points.
The rattle soud is like the same what I have with stock gearbox and a clutch without springs. I have change at the same time the gearbox with 3th/4th upgrate and quatermaster hd drive clutch,I don't know how loud is the clutch with stock gearbox. The rattle is always when the car is moving without throttle, with throttle you can't hear the rattle ,only you can hear the normal tranny noise like straight cut.
I have test the gears over 10000km street use and many 1/4mile runs without problems ,gearshift is vberry goI shift at 9000rpm with nlts never have a shiftfail with that gears.
That is absolute streetable and a nice upgrade for people like driven on street and not would buy a dogbox. The price is not to high and a stock gearbox rebuild is also not cheap and you know that the fail can happened every time.
I have drive only the 4th gear upgrate first with 900+hp ,after 5000km I have smashed the gears from centerdiff and intermediate shaft into the 4th gear :)

The rattle noise is a bit scary but I have nothing issures with the gears.
The shaft are not balanced but the machine work is amaizing exactly.
After 10000km 900+hp and reving up to 9200 use all bearings ok,only the 2th gear synchro was broken but that's was my fail.

I forget 2 points.
Only the building time are 6-8weeks shipping time I don't know .
When I build 10sets its better than one set. Build time are faster and I can sent all together, delivery is cheaper.
I will build in the future some spare sets for customers what I can direct send but I have no spare gearshafts at the moment.
Payment with PayPal its possible
