hahaha... then it would be a straight cut Cusco centre diff that will mate to Matthias' dog gear upgrade Would be fun for hillclimbs and motorkhanas.
Hey Matthias out of interest, what price do you think you could make a straight cut gear to bolt onto the Cusco centre diff?
It will need to mate to your 3rd gear intermediate shaft dog upgrade.
Here's some more pics to show you what the gear looks like.
PS: Im not promising anything at the moment, just interested to know to weigh up my options ).
You sir are a good man
So for 1500 Euro you will do 3rd and 4th dog gear upgrade, and make me a dog gear so I can bolt onto the Cusco centre diff? (not do factory centre diff upgrade).
Here's a side picture of OEM vs Cusco Tarmac centre diff.
It looks like it will be close to stock, maybe just a little narrower.
If you look at the size of the gear teeth on both centre diffs compared to the opposite end diameter it is very similar.
(The Cusco is much bigger diameter in the middle to stock but the back looks very similar)
Will confirm measurement tomorrow
Unfortunately it doesn't look like it
I only just measured the Cusco Tarmac centre diff diameter vs the OEM centre diff diameter where the 4th gear will be situated.
The Cusco Tarmac is actually 0.25mm larger in diameter than the OEM centre diff cover.
Cusco Tarmac = 105.00mm
OEM centre Diff = 104.75mm
And where the Cusco will need to be shaved back 2mm to clear the 4th dog gear, the Cusco is only 4mm thick.
You could possibly do it, buy its not worth compromising the Cusco's housing by removing any thickness of the side wall all the way around.
It was worth a shot checking to see if a Cusco centre diff would work with a dog 4th gear, but from what it appears to me with these measurements, is that you cant do it without risking the structural integrity of the Cusco's housing.
See the pics.
I can build also for other gearbox and in another Ratio, the vr4 Box is Like the Same as EVO 1 with other final drive .right?.than i can also build the Same setup for the Same price
Micky. The GVR4 has different centre diff, intermediate shaft, and 3rd gear tooth helix to EVO and thats why you cant mix and match these GVR4 internals with a GSR or EVO box. However, that wont matter if you get the 3rd and 4th and centre diff dog upgrade from Matthias as the dog gears will replace these different GVR4 gears.
Then in order to benefit from double synchros on 3rd and 4th, you will need to change your GVR4 3rd/4th hub and slider and shift fork to same as EVO (CE9A) 3rd and 4th units as the EVO are smaller in diameter and are double synchro.
Basically the upgrades Matthias can do to a CE9A box WILL fit and work in a GVR4 box if you supply him the following:
GVR4 intermediate shaft
GVR4 centre diff
EVO CE9A 3rd and 4th gears and double synchros.
Then you will just have to buy yourself EVO CE9A 3rd/4th shift fork and 3rd/4th hub and slider and you got yourself a GVR4 box with dog gear 3rd and 4th gears with double synchros
Thats it.
