hey guys,

I feel like a noob again asking this, but i have never done it, and i know that a few people have..

Can you just plug an EVO ecu into a GSR loom, obviuosly matching the injectors and AFM to suit the ECU???

and anyone with ECM link on a GSR ecu (dean) was it plug and play (plus some soldering, 1 pin and a socket) like the evo ecu?

Looking to help out a couple of people about to go down this path.

Cheers
nick

It's just bolt in Nick :)

If you aren't going ECM link tho- then it's better to run a chipped GSR ECU, than an EVO one, so you can datalog with EVOscan or something

Aren't the GSR and EVO radiator fan controls different? ie GSR runs off a thermo switch near the fan and EVO runs through the ECU?

The series two gsr uses the same system of ecu fan control as the evo123....it is only early gsr that has the radiator fan temp switch

hi guys just on the topic i have all the bits to go on to my CC GSR (think series 1)

E3 ecu- 550cc inj- 055 afm.

As for the thermo fans, whats the proceadure?

Will i have any advantages running a magna/VR4/evo fuel reg???

Current mods TD05 16G, split D/pipe, wlabro, exhaust, VR4 cooler, Pod, Blits Duel Stage 12psi, larger Magna TB, Plumbback no bov.

Previously made 151kw atw with the standard td04 @ 13psi, after fitting the tdo5 had tune but only made 158kw @12psi ??? but after found air leaks...... to fuel pessure reg, boost controller T piece and pollution control, fixed these and its much quicker :) Are the improvements from the E3 gear really noticiable?

the thermo fans should still trigger on their own independent of the ecu however im not sure if issues will arrise inside of the ecu due to not having the temp signal
