Hi everyone,

just wondering about some solenoid's firewall, and if they can be removed with out any problems?

the lines go to the FPR, and from the intake manifold. Can i remove them and just run the line straight to the FPR from the inlet manifold?

thanks?

you that desperate to shed some weight from your car!?!
I think it would not be a good idea to remove as the soledoid will be in place to perform a simelar function to a boost controller and allows air into this line in a metered and controled fashion to keep the fuel pressure correct - the ecu would be constantly making calculations as to the "signal" the FPR needs and if it is different to the straight vacuum source. I hope this makes a little sence, I could be wrong however this is my educated guess

Yours go to the FPR? hmmm I better look into this a bit better... look at the diagram on this thread and that shows how it is setup on the twin solenoid 1.8 4G93 DOHC models.

yep one to the FPR and one to a little emssions canister type thig.

I thorught the same thing about the ECU controling the exact measured pressure going in, just wasnt sure if some one has done it before..

and yeh hehe the weight is good, but a less clutterd engine bay is better, and the fact that the canisters for the suspension can sit there.

cheers

none of its been hooked up yet. all the cauum lines still have to be sorted, ive ditched half of them as i dont have a carbon canister anymore, and i have an XF throttle body..... the FPR has one vaccum line running to it, but it never went to that unit like you had posted above.
