they are just single springs only.. nothing more

stock retainers are fine for most people

I dont, but like barry said they're single, and i reatained my OEM retainers :lol:

Send those guys an email, their customers service is pretty good too!

Sweet, thanks boys. I just emailed them for their recommendations and will post up their response here. I asked for valve springs and retainers to suit high HP large cam lift applications with up to 8500rpm-9000rpm rev range :lol:

Hi, We have a spring and retainer listed for the 4G63 but I would like to do a little more research as I think it may be a little heavy ( unless your using a lot of boost ) and I'm looking at another spring we have which has less open pressure. What is your installation height and total valve lift, how much boost do you intend to use?

Hi Allen, boost levels would be kept at a medium level for street use at approx 19-21psi, but will see some track usage now and then with anything from 24psi-28psi. My camshaft is listed below from the CROWER range. It is the stock number 64414-2 Stage 3 - 3/4 Race with lift and duration levels as indicated in the diagram below.

On another note, the most popular camshaft used by 4G63 turbo owners is the HKS 272 camshaft. It would be virtually identical to the CROWER Stage 2 (stock 64413-2) in the diagram below. HKS report a 10.3mm lift with the 272 but they measure their cam specs differently to other manufacturers.

What in the world?
I got this response from them:

We have the D5188 listed for that engine, I don't now if the PS 3506/93 would fit, I have just checked it on a retainer and it fits nicly. Could you give me the fitted height, O.D. and I.D. of the spring for this engine so I can double check things for you, it may very well fit but I don't have anything recorded for this engine which I normally do when we find something else that fits

UPDATE: Allen is investigating the discrepancy in advice and will let me know soon :wink:

At least we will finally be able to confirm the right part number for any member (upgrading to bigger cams) who is looking to purchase a h/d valve spring and retainer kit in the future

If anyone is upgrading to bigger cams and needs stronger valve springs and retainers, give Performance Springs in QLD a serious consideration. Their website is http://www.performancesprings.com.au/ and the cost is now an insanely cheap $270 + freight!!! :
