VALVE STEAM SEALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help Support 4GTuner:

hey gsrgrl
its ryan i brought aarons gsr.
i did the front seal in the turbo, thus oil went all through my intercooler into the intake manifold and went right into the cylinder, we thought it was just something wrong in the head, like valves or valve steam seal. (sound familiar?), but we were wrong, the reason why i lost compression in number 3 cylinder was there was a build up of oil and gunk on the exhaust valves, and so they valve could not close 100% and oil was goin straight into the exhaust and smoking. its very simple, id suggest since i've been there, remove the head, get it pulled apart cleaned etc and see what is wrong. im not saying there isnt anything that needs to b replaced but u'll find out the condition of anything and everything in the head. so instead on having the head left on and the valve steam seals replaced when they could b ok, u'll get someone who knows whats what see if a valve mite b damaged or anything like that. im sorry if thats 2 much 2 get in one go, just let me know. and let everyone know what ur doin.

ryan,
thanks for that, might have to look into it, though it used to blow abit of smoke but i just left it for awhile as i was planning on what to do but since ive just left it its been good on smoke, i had a service done and i mixed this stuff in through the oil im unsure right now wat its called i got it from autobarn its a white bottle with blue lid and blue writting sorry for bad description, but this stuff cleans all the shit out and seals whatever leaks and shit. its been really good even my lifters aint as bad as they were.
but thanks for the tip....

cylinders r fine... comp tested a few weeks ago... i think i'll pull off the head when we move out as we r only using 1 car...

her motor forged n stuff so i dont think its the bottom end... her temp got really high, ever since that the car blows smoke... i think its either the turbo or valve stem seals...

aaron did u buy this turbo just by looking at it and thinking it looks new.
oh i got the turbo checked out that was in the gsr, it was shot to pieces and was rat shit for a long long time. brand new aye!

yep just by looking at it... i dont work on turbos so i have no idea about the condition inside them... i may have damaged that turbo when it was on my car man... anything could have gone threw it n damaged it... it looked fine when i bought it... n went MAD as hell when i had it on my car... its been off n on that car a few times... n shit had prob gone threw it...

not my prob anyways

incase it wasnt answered, it is possible to replace stem seals without taking off the head. they take out the spark plug and pump the cylinder full of air so when you take off the springs the valve doesnt drop into the cylinder. it works find and its cheap but you have to be sure that the valve seals are the problem, if they're not the problem the head will be coming off sooner or later to check the valves. hope this is some help
