Hey guys, Does anyone know who is selling these in Aus?? If so what are the pro's and cons if any???

Thanks

Alex

Search????? Basically rad n shit. The thread from memory is located in the misc tech section, fair few pages to.

Plenty sold on ebay, that is where i got mine from.

pro's
can be quiet when you want it to be
can be noisey when you want power or to piss of the neighbours

con's
when quiet it robs power, your exhaust effectively becomes 1.5" if that
would be cool if it had a manual overide switch instead of just the remotes.

Another con.... In NSW they won't pass an EPA inspection due to the fact they can be altered at anytime.... ie- if the exhaust is over 90db with it open it's good for nothing.

Exactly what to4garret said.

Another thing to remember though is that the Varex should not and more than likely will not pass EPA in any state, it was never designed to.
The Varex is meant to stop you from receiving that EPA notice in the first place, and does so nicely :D.

Ebay is a good place to buy, as are the X-force dealers listed on their website.

i just purchased one through APC yet to hear what it's like. i got it cause i don't want the neighbours getting pissed at me when having the car running. also the cop factor.

Try your local exhaust shop. Trippy recently got one for his car from an exhaust shop down the road for work..price seemed fair too

There's an X-force shop in Coburg North, on Newlands Rd.

I bought the one that was on my old EVO off ebay. Best mod ever!

Yep that's where my varex twin tip came from.

IMO: Pro's - farken best thing ever to be able to quieten the exhaust down when coming back home late at night / driving in peak hour traffic etc.
Also build quality is very high, even for a chinese muffler.
Sounds tough with the valve fully open, yet still doesn't drone too much and isn't excessively loud.

Con's - costs quite alot.
Weighs abit.
Cannon looks ghey (IMO) & people say twin tip is difficult to install (although I didn't find that to be the case)
Does not pass EPA inspection as it is not ADR approved.
Made in China.

They make a 3.5 inch muffler and i think its a great idea if the cops dont hear its noisey upon inspection they dont go looking any further... Switch it on as you drive into your neighbourhood and its all apples.
It being so dear isnt even a con as its a fuck load cheaper than copping a noise fine and going to court for it....

Im currently having a butterfy which is completely adjustable all the way from shut to open with turning a dial myn is being done by a shop in wollongong called variflow the one for myn isnt a muffler it gets flanged into your pipe instead no ugly mufflers and completely hidden will post up some pics when i get the car back

sort of looks like that but its a little different in how its controlled size of the valve looks about right though

Varex looks like shit, Variflow (and similar devices) works like shit .

What about the Varex looks shit? you can get them in oval if you don't like cannon.

The 'variflow' type valve are completely useless as they prohibit flow altogether.

Varex twin tips look the BEEZ NEEZ. hence why i got it :) .

Polo: not if you look hard enough B)
