Has anyone done or have pictures of carbon look vinyl wrap on a gsr? Ive seen it on a few cars and it looked pretty good but not sure if would look nice on my car? opinions feedback and info much appricated :)

I have to replace my roof due to rust and I was thinking of doing this also instead of getting it painted, so if you find any good photos or links post them up :) ill do likewise

I have the wrap, but haven't done it. but the cheap wrap will not shrink as easily as the more expensive stuff.
How much did it cost you for the wrap i was gonna get the 3m stuff, but not sure if i can do it myself
Pretty sure there is a pic on here somewhere off trippys old GSR with it done
is that the onpsi car? i noticed he had his roof done but wasnt sure if it was wrap or a proper carbon roof

3m Di-NOC ;) I did it after i bought the car from TRIPPY

If you do it leave it as it is..at the time i thought about clear coating it but isn't any good as i did a test piece first and it just fills the gaps then it looks shit

yea my mate works at autobarn so ill be able to get abit of a discount might even get it installed super cheap :) both cars look good wraped ^^

how hard is the wrapping? considering doing it to my evo 0 bonnet with how good the evo bonnet looked, but dont no if i have the skill/patients to pull it off haha

Patience is something you needs heaps of to do a bonnet...thats why I paid someone to do my bonnet. Little bits are easy...but bonnet was a killer, especially the Evo bonnet with so many curves and bumps.

The trick when doing large areas like a good or roof is to wet apply it this allows you to back it off if its not sitting right

The guys on utube make it look so easy.
i reckon you going to need 3 people to get it on.

Does it heat shrink like window tint or stretch with the heatgun? Clips all show them heat and stretch it but the sign guy over the road was shrinking it. he says it shrinks in one direction only, to the top and bottom of the roll.

thoughts and comments?

Yes it does stretch like window tint to some extent.. You could do it with 2 guys but you need to know where to start and which direction to push the spears as I call them.

If your replacing the roof why not just get a real carbon roof skin. There is a Japanese evo3 featured on speedhunters with a carbon roof. Someone has left a link on here http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/03/modern-classic-garage-g-force-ego-iii/
