Jack....Everything looks easy on Youtube....its easy to stretch it the wrong way which ends up tearing. Too much heat also causes holes / rips.
Adrian...thats the link I posted recently...hot car!

thats different they were complied that way to put a carbon roof on the like of our cars is illegal because they aren't crash rated stupid and gay yes

I got quoted $350 to do the roof and i was thinking it would be more, but the guy said if there is any paint chiped or any dints or anything it would show alot more then the white, and ive got some small rust on the rear of the roof so not sure what to do about the rust bubbles

Get it repaired at a body shop. If u cover it up and don't get it fixed properly it will just spread. Panel beaters call it cancer for a reason. At least if your going to cover it after fixing it you won't need the paint looking mint

$350 to carbon wrap your roof? that's reasonable when i did mine it was almost $200 for the carbon wrap then $100 install from our local guy at work

Yea i noticed that the stuff goes for around $200-$300 and i figured it would cost an arm and leg for labour but im happy with that price.

there is a guy on ebay that sells that carbon wrap for $200 but its like 20-30meters of the stuff. its not the 3M brand but it looks just as good. for that price, wrap up the whole car!

yeah if it's not 3m dinoc don't use it the 3m stuff is THE most realistic carbon look vynil

+1 to this looks pretty realistic on all angles and will last for ages. Being on the roof it's a job you'd only want to do once and it will be subject to some serious heat outside in the summer

would i have to get the gear window taken out so the rust can get fixed? its right along the rear of the roof so i assume id have too.

3m stuff, i did my own bonnet..

Will warn people though, heat will soften the 3m adhesive in the long run. Will create bubbles behind the weave and can shrink the material if near direct hear ie: bonnet vents..

Cheap shit is about $25 for 1 meter by 1.52 it's tough air channels pretty rubbish compared to 3m but aslong as you use a adhesion promoter you'll be fine I remember the bloke who sells the material saying it took 6 hrs to wrap a evo 6 bonnet (pro finish)

I wrapped my roof and the boot lid myself. looks pretty good. Will do the evo front bumper, rear spoiler and hood next year.
