VR4 3bolt rear diff

Hello guys,

I have brought a 3 bolt rear lsd diff and dont know if it is a mech or visc. How do I find out?

Typically, a viscous lsd will have a label on the back of it saying "viscous lsd".

If you turn one axle, while holding the input shaft still, and the other axle turns the opposite way, it is either open or a viscous lsd. If the other axles turns the same way, it is either a locked or mechanical lsd.

If it doesn't have a hole for the 4ws pump, it's a factory mech lsd (from an early RS).

If it does, it's either viscous or open.

Just take the rear plate off and have a look.
