VR4 coils VS GSR coils.

Howdy,

Im just wondering here... In the transplant thread it says to use GSR coils + leads with the 4g63... The ones which are on the 4g63 engine already why cant they be used? Is the plug different ? Will the ECU not like it ? (Im using chipped stock ecu for now).

Just trying to learn/understand here. So any help at all is most appreciated.

the reason why i changed mine was the plug for ease of wiring(plug and play), i cant see why you cant use the stock 63 one otherwise

From what has been said here before, i think the vr4 has 4 wires and the gsr/evo has 3. Also different plugs.
however someone was saying they can be wired to work. (khubner maybe?)

Jump on eBay search for vr4 coil find the precision engines listing and look at the details. They list vr4 and gsr lancer so 64t and 93t as the same 3 pin triangle. Don't know how accurate this is but sounds like just check the plug

Why dont you just go and look for yourself , you have a GSR with a 93T engine and u just removed the 4G63T from the VR4, see if they have the same plugs n stuff

VR4 coils and ignitor plug in to the GSR wiring 100% !
