When i pulled out my factory intake manifold i didnt realise that the wires conected to the back of it were connected to the block, this being the case i pulled the wires out of the sensor. am i correct in saying this is the Knock Sensor? screws into the block under the intake manifold. purchased another knock sensor off trademe but has arrived and is different, will this still work or have i got my sensors completely mixed up? any help would be great thanks

one on the left is the factory one, one on the right is the 2nd hand purchased one

As long as it came from a 4g63, it should be the same frequency. The broken one is the type i've seen on most early 4g63s ....

Spoke to mitsubishi today and guy i was talking to said aslong as it was from an E39A it would be fine, but might still keep an eye out for one similar to the original.
do you guys have many around over there as i have really struggled to find even the one i got here in NZ
Cheers Anthony

thanks mate yea saw that on there just before, is saved to the watchlist, just waiting for a photo of another potential one here in NZ, otherwise that'll be my go too :)

+1 ^^ .. There not that much new. I buy them thru my supplier here in Adelaide for $100 approx( ?), and they are just a rebadged genuine Mitsi part. The pictured sensor in the original post is from a later Evo 4G63, and will NOT work in the VR4.
