WANTED 4G64 ENGINE BLOCK!

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Ring a few workshops that have cars with similar setups, Micks motorsport, Rigolis, Powertune, APC, Forbidden Motorsport etc

The 4g64 late evo pistons are worth looking at. Im pretty sure they are the std 2.0 deck height so will suit a long rod g64.
I just dunno if we had a 2.4 in our late evo (pre evo x)

Also if you look in the wiseco catalog, the skyline pistons are close. Correct pin, correct size. Slightly different pin height. But cant recall what way. Maybe can use the nissin pistons and deck block 1mm (or whatever, I cant remember) not sure about valve cut outs etc

It is all about the rod ratio.
 :fuuuuu: -_-

had issues with weisco, I ended up using a cp piston that was sold for the 100mm stroke in the 4g63.

then I purchase a crank that had more stroke than the stock 88mm crank and found a off the shelf rod to suit,

  • dummy assembled crank,rods & pistons

  • measured piston to deck height,

  • torqued head down measured head gasket compression ,

  • disassemble engine , skim piston or deck
  • depends if you need more or less squish

  • critical measurement for optimum combustion anti detonation

I already have pistons taken care of as of Thursday afternoon and they are in transit. We ended up machining the block to accept the old pistons and will use the ones I ordered for a backup motor down the road.

I have some 87mm wisecos in transit to suit a later model 4g64 156mm rod. Turned up in AU on thursday, just waiting on local delivery. Should be here tomorrow.

Let me know if you get stuck.
