Jazz9 and my self have aquired a cb gsr which we will be fitting a 4g63 into with w5 lsd box , we are aiming to have it finished in time for racewars to woop some ass.
We are just wondering if anybody would be keen on lending a hand , parts , contacts or advice , we will also be doing a build thread for it also.
With regular progress update and pics .
 
Sounds like fun fellas.

Time poor a lot, but more than willing to lend a hand when possible.

Good with electronics, can swing a spanner, can offer mig and bronzing and have a few bits laying around. Also good at standing around with a beer and taking the piss.
 
Will be many beers on this build , we may have a cage builder on board. We will be turboing the 4g61 to see what it can take with a 20g just for fun.
While we play with that the 4g63 will get a freshen over , the whole thing will be light weight also stripping as much as we can from it
 
Slight change in plans, its now a Galant GSR .... lol ... darn CB GSR dude was being difficult.

I wonder how much weight we can take out... hmmm ... 1240kg stock .... maybe 1150kg....

Do you think we should use the GGSR fwd box or lock the awd box in fwd?

Definitely go the half shaft cos they torque steer crazily without one, fun yes, practical no.

Also jump on a vr4 box, weld the centre diff, a welsh plug and silicone in the hole where the output shaft would come out.

VR4 clutch isn't the same, as the flywheel isn't stepped, but if u can get a vr4 flywheel it all bolts up and u can use a vr4 clutch.

Ummm I think that's all I can tell ya. With a set of say 272 cams, 300hp atw is very achievable even on stock bottom end, so forged internals it should do it easy.
 
We have a vr4 box and flywheel so thats a good start also a used clutch

Glen we might have to do a head swap of my vr4 and use the 272s hahaha
 
So here is our GSR galant , Glen and i will be starting a build thread in members rides with regular updates and pics.
We have 8 weeks to have it ready for racewars !!!!

Yeah that will come after racewars i think , just concentrating on stripping interior out for now. Engine and box should be out this arvo along with the rest of the interior.
 
Engine/box and rest of interior coming out this arvo , Then it will be getting a pressure wash for me to paint engine bay while glen starts on the vr4 engine rebuild.
I will be fitting vr4 side skirts and front bumper , im also cutting gsr bonnet to make it a reverse cowl scoop , large cowl in centre and a smaller one on each side at the front.

Air duct will be put into front bar and funnelled up to airbox and out small reverse cowl and on the left side of the car it will be ducted through bumper to the oil cooler and ducted up to a p/s cooler and out the other small cowl scoop, Large centre will obviously for engine cooling / flow to keep temps down also water spray will be used on intercooler and most likely oil cooler too.

brake cooling ducts will also be put in for track racing.

I will let glen keep everybody updated on the engine and wiring side of things. Build thread with current state of the gsr will be started tonight
 
i may have cams I could let go cheap....would need valve springs change tho.

hks 264 exhaust...

That would be sweet 264 / 264 would be the best for the track / drags. Don't really care about the brand. Free would be good, else cheap will do :D

Any of you guys going to come upto racewars?
