Anyone know anything about water injection systems?

Pros, cons (more importantly cons)

and where in VIC (or AUS) to get them?

Cheers
Alex

There were a few good UK stores a few years back, I really like the idea of water injection and I am thinking of running it on my second car for a bit of fun. Will try and find the sites when I get home tonight.

I run it on my VR4.
1st of all I'll do the cons.
1. If you tune with it and run right on the edge there is a chance you could blow your motor if the nozzle ( injector ) gets clogged for any reason.
It is a good idea to have a failsafe in place :)
Thats pretty much it for the cons!
Now for the pros...
1. It cools the intake charge down a LOT. I can do a 1st - 3rd gear pull and the intake manifold is cold when I stop :)
2. It steam cleans EVERYTHING past the point where you have the nozzle placed. After only 1 afternoon's use my piston tops looked almost perfectly clean.
3. It lets you run a lot more boost than you could without it on Pump fuel.
I have run up to 30psi on a 50 trim on Shell V-power with NO knock at all.
It is basically like running race fuel all the time!

I run a mix of about 50 /50 methanol and water in mine.
The Methanol helps to raise the octane levels and also aids with the cooling.

Bear in mind that you will have to lean things out in order to run a meth/water mix otherwise you'll just go rich everytime the injection kicks in.

I got mine from here...
