People say the vent to atmo is bad for our cars because the car is loosing metered air when the bov opens. Also vent to atmo is illegal. My mate has a full plumb back version in his s15 and it's pretty loud, I think I'll get one too

A hard intake, kn filter in the fender will make the std plumback audible from inside car.

Will depend how you set it up for the volume level....it will be noisy enough either way.

That's the one that I run in mine. I took off that stupid looking megaphone thing, just in case I need a roadworthy or something one day....
Its not real loud at all, although I don't run massive boost either (max 18psi).
I don't have problems or issues with it at all.

Yep, that's what I'm running and it's still loud especially at high revs.jack of all said:

Whilst boost pressure comes into it, it also depends on your overall setup.
When I queried Turbosmart on the valve for my setup based on running 24-25psi, the response they gave me was...
"It's not as simple as saying yes as there is more than just the boost pressure that it runs at. You've got to look at how much air is flowing through it which can be roughly determined by looking at what turbo and what engine you've got"

It kinda depends on your overall set up as mentioned previously. However I put it in with pretty much standard everything, when vented it's loud enough to be noticed for sure and I didn't notice any running problems with it that way either (weird), however when plumbed back I did notice a little bit if "dosing" or however you spell it under light throttle.rhodieee said:

vent to atmo bov's are just cop magnets. plus IMO the noise gets old after about 5 achoos. i run a turbosmart kompact through a k+n pannel in the stock box with the part of the intake before the box the horseshoes removed and it's quite audible over the definantly louder than 90db exhuast

I reckon it would be cop magnets if your driving the typical skyline, silvia etc. But im putting it on an RVR which looks like a soccer mums car. The factory BOV is loud enough to crack necks but even giving it some stick infront of cops didnt even make them turn twice and wondered what car was making that noiseleadfoot said:
