Hi All...

I'm in need of some driveshafts for the passenger side of the VR4.

Now with a Magna box, I have 27 spline front diff that needs to be catered for..

The intermediate shaft from the Magna is shorter than the VR4. The axel itself in the Magna is too long.. So combined they are a fraction too long...

I've used the VR4 axel on the Magna intermediate shaft and it is too short. I'm wondering what evos use. Im guessing like a galant but event shorter axels..

I wonder if the nimbus use different axels or even intermediate shafts...

Suggestions?

Here are some photos of my ordeal.. Is there are any other cars that use an intermediate shaft that is 27 spline? 3000gt? Hyundai? Proton?

Below shows Magna which is too long.

it's fwd yeah? do you need an intermediate shaft (i know the unequal length shafts leads to torque steer) but base spec fwd lancer use a long shaft and a short shaft.

Shoot. I know a guy who can as he built custom shafts for his 260z. But I haven't seen him in at least 12 months. Have u spoken to Aldo? What is the total collapsed length and spline counts? Have u tried a driveshaft shop to see of they can source a shorter length with knuckles that will fit in Mistu cups. There was a guy local to me that used to have racks of shafts, he would do exchange or rebuild urs. Someone like that maybe.

Ill keep calling... Most guys say that because they are hardened it is difficult...

I've found that an eclipse axle should bolt in. Now to find an eclipse in Australia. Haha...

I've got a Gsp part number so I'll call the Australian distributor tomorrow and see if I can get them locally.. Otherwise I'll order from overseas..

if you are pressed for time try a single peice long shaft for the interim (as said the base spec lancer fwd auto uses the F4A transmission)

No idea if its the same or if it will help but i have some gsr driveshafts ya can borrow or buy if ya need, just shout out bud

your looking for 1.8or even 1.5l equipped automatic lancers (not sure if they will work as you are putting in a vr4 (which is wider yes?) i know the 1.8s definatly have the f4a trans as i helped manual swapped a mates (can't remember if we also swapped drive shafts. the trans code isn't a guarantee the diffs are even the same

I've been told I need eclipse axles for my combo. none in Australia unfortunately. Nothing even crosses over in part numbers. I'll have to build my own. I'll keep you updated on my swap post. Thanks for the offers and advice.
