what do use think of this??

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

It would make it a TD05 20G. You already have a compressor cover dont you?

Personally, I would try and make my setup as efficient as possible and make the most of the 16G before you go and upgrade your turbo. If or when that moment does arrive, i'd switch to a 4WD (for traction) then go directly for a TD06 20G!.

I've heard of quite a few people that run 16g/20g hybrids and suffer from surging and unstable boost. If your looking at 20g I would recommend going TD06 20g.

Yep...and i'm one of them. I might contemplate welding up the standard internal wastegate and run an external gate to deal with this problem seeing as I don't need a bigger turbo.

Do you have a stock comp cover machined to suit, or the td06 comp cover?

Yeah, it was machined to suit the 16G compressor cover and the internal wastegate was enlarged for more flow...

Matt, I paid close to $2,000 about five years ago for my turbo. It was built and balanced by Kill Keen at Adelaide Turbo Services and after 60,000km's, the condition is as good as the day it was installed. I wouldn't spend my money on these cheap turbos, especially if you plan to run some serious boost.

I ran a TD05h16g with back cut rear wheel and 20g front. Never had an issue. Car went really well. I am also selling a custom built turbo shortly.

IMO, there is nothing particularly wrong with the response of a E3/20 turbo. Yes, they're plain bearing but they're a good all-round turbo hense being so popular. I would only really start looking for BB technology with much bigger, laggier turbos...

i bought 20g tdo5h from the same guy and it's all genuine but couldn't really boost it to c how it goes but so far so good:)

i paid 750 including postage to my door:)

oh and if you want to get rid of the surge just get rid off the wall that separate westgate from the rest of the turbine housing and it'll be all good:) just grind it off
