Hey guys, im wondering wat offset will fit my car ??
will 16*7 rims with an offset of +35 fit the vr4 ??
really appreciated :)

cars which are either FWD or 4WD with 4x114.3 stud pattern, any rims from those cars should fit perfectly with our cars........

um tharaka.......... das exatly what i said......... didnt say any thing bout offsets?..... posts weren't edited either...... your seeing things bro..... crap didnt notice i clicked twice...... mah bad.....

The fronts will stick it out a little, a 7 inch rim with a +35 is pushing the limits at the front anyway.
The front and rear will extend 24mm wider than the standard wheel.

This is fine for the rear, but touch and go on the front, you may find the outside of the tyre/wheel just sticking outside the front guards, looks cool though, and if your cars not too low it will never touch the guard, its just the police dont realy like it,the rears will be fine though. The rears wil take about 40-45mm extension depending on your camber.Mine are at 45mm,scrubs a little.

My car at the front has an 8 inch rim with a +45 offset, that has total of 26 mmm extension, mine are just outside the front guards.

Ive put this up before, but here it is anyway

17x8 + 35 work perfectly

so im not sure why you think 17x7 + 35 is pushing it...

Well as i said.I have 8 inch fronts with a +45 offset.
That equates to the rim sitting out an adittional 26mm over standard.
My tyres are in line, well actually about 2mm outside the guard.
If you use an 8 in with a +35 like u said then you would be a further 10mm out again.
that'd mean your tyre would be around 12mm outside the guard.
so yes..as i said earlier..a 7 wide +35 is on the line..it extends 24mm further than stock.it'd sit in line with the guard, which is just legal in the eyes of the police, thats what i meant by you'd be pushing it...not to mention the possible guard damage you could suffer.

if my car doesnt sell

im gonna get some 17x7 +25 wheels
they should fit nicely

i'd prefer an even lower offset for the rear, but 25 is the lowest

not enough negative camber

Not enought negative camber..at the front?
the factory adjustment is nil....unless you have aftermarket tops.

The camber you would need to run to tuck in the tops of a 7 Inch rim at a +25 will be enough to wear the tyres out in 5 minutes.Itd be about 3 degrees,at a guess.

Do u want the fronts to stick out?
Why dont you go with a combination offset, performance wheels were gonna set me up with some superlites at 7 +35 @ the front and 7 + 15 at the rear.....the rear needs around 2.5 Deg Neg to clear depending on the tyre, but i rekon if u where gonna buy some new wheels it'd be the way to go_Or you could use billet bolt on wheel spacers.
Im with you, filling the guards looks heaps beter,i wouldnt have it any other way, thats why i have 9's on the rear of mine :D

lol
camber doesnt wear tyres out
toe does

2 degrees negative on the front
0 on the rear

should fit

if 17x8 + 35 fits, i know 17x7 +25 will too :)

this is what i want the stance of the car to look like

They're too far in?
How low is your car gonna be?
How far do u want the rims to be outside the guard...got stiff suspension?
8.5 wide @ +35 will be perfect for the back with around 2.5-3 deg neg(depending on how low),but at the front theyre gonna be at least at least a whole inch outside th eguard, serious cop magnet, and it'l probably look silly.

Yous said its not camber that wears tyres, its the toe...well with camber comes toe,and a certain amount of camber will require a certain amount of toe,in order to be properly alligned, trust me,a wheel sitting at 3 degees on the front of your car doing the steering with 0 or -1 mm toe is goin to show wear on the inside.

I dont know how good these pics show but you can see that
my fronts are just out of the guard @ 8 wide +45
The rears are 9 wide @+39 and only tuck in due to -3 degrees camber.

Sorry about the file size im workin on it.
