It's time for me to do a timing belt again. Almost 200000km on the dash. I'm thinking what should I do. I have 272 cams and fidanza cam gears ready so I'm thinking about taking the head of and porting it as well as installing new cams and while I'm doing that I could refresh the bottom end with new bearings, piston rings, maybe remove balance shafts and even get the forged pistons only.
Only thing that makes me thinking is the fact that the engine has done so many km.
What are your thoughts?

Thanks.

Sounds like if your rebuilding it then at least you know exactly what condition your internals are like over some random half cut...

Mio, I reckon buy yourself a spare RVR motor and build yourself a lower end over time. That way when you want to do the lower end swap, you can.
I also would keep your balance shafts. I decided to keep mine in the end.

If you don't need to do the rebuild right now, spend some time and build up a motor.

If you need a block, let me know, I'll see if my builder needs my old block and if not I'll find out what he wants for it (He's building up a spare block he had there)

If it aint broke, why fix it?

I'd just install the cams, do your major service- 200k kms aint a thing for a 4G63!

Almost done mate.
Head was left on.
Only timing belts with all seals, bearings ,water pump and harmonic balancer was replaced.
Also new cams, cam gears and valve seals are in.
I should finish it all tonight.
