Hey guys
Im currently in the middle of fabricating my intercooler pipes
Just curious of what anyone is running or opinions of what is the best set up?

Ive already made from turbo outlet
Ive done a 2" pipe from outlet changing into a 2.5" then connecting to intercooler 3" ends
Then from other end ive done same as other side
3"tank outlet to 2.5" up then ive stopped just as i was going up to eng bay
Just wondering whether i should keep running with 2.5" pipe up the the throtle body???
Considering the throtle body is 70mm (2.75")

Am thinking im gonna change the size with a reducer to 2.5"-2.75" pipping.....
Main reason to make it match up with throtle body and look nicer IMO with out a reducer on the throtle body....

Also inlet the the turbo compressor.
Im gonna do a 2.5"-3" reducer silicone hose to 3" pipping all the way up to cold air box

Just wanna know if this set up sounds ok or am about to stumble accros a problem or laggy or whatever???

I am running a standard a evo7 motor in a tme, 6.5 turbo on a built motor with a Power FC and 272 cams...

Any help will be appriciated
Thanks
Adam

I'd match the t/b personally. A lot of guys will say 2.5" is plenty but if you're going to do it, might as well do it right. Plus like you said it'll look better.

2.5' cold side is plenty for 300kw.. lots of people with stock evo 9 piping on their 9s which is 2.5' make 300kw!

id be interested to find out if you lose or gain any response with going bigger cooler pipes (2.75')..

Jon

63mm o/d on hot side is plenty until you start making massive power, on cold side factory size or just a little bigger to TB to keep your torque in check depends on what your long term goals are for your power output.

The only real factory restriction on a 4-6.5 that warrants a modification for better/more efficient way of making extra power is the hot side pipe (from turbo outlet to intercooler.)
