Hey guys,

I have just had my tune done and the car is pumping out some decent power 182kw ATW. I am at a state where I am not sure what next to mod to get more power without opening it up and replacing with forged parts to cater for more boost.

Evo 3 engine (Standard apart from below)
272 Cams + Upgraded valve springs and retainers
Adjustable cam gears(yet to be adjusted off the 0 mark)
Walbro 255 pump
2.5 inch cooler piping (Meek)
3 inch TBE
ECMLink
K&N panel filter
Evo 8MR BOV
Turbotech manual boost controller

About to order some plugs and leads from the states and was thinking that it might be a good time to purchase any other items that might be needed soon.

You can do some more mods for responsiveness. As far as I know from this point u need to start with getting more air and fuel. So porting and bigger injectors but if u are porting the head. U might aswell do the forgy :)

With the exchange these days you should get a brand new TD05H 20G :) cost me $700 landed

GTpumps ex manifold

700/800cc inj

Now that does sound good, did you notice much of a difference in response?

I think a intake pipe might be a good investment as that is still stock, has a K&N panel in front of it but it is the corrugated rubber pipe still.

I havnt thrown it on yet, but i did throw 1 on my mates stock 63T and noticed that boost kicks in round same time as the 16G but continues till around 7500 :)

Intake pipe as in this 1? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Lance-EVO-1-2-3-silicone-intake-induction-Kit-/280354508850?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41466e5032

Here is the turbo

or if your ex housing is in perfect condition then u could just get this and save a some $$

Thanks for the links mate, might have to do some shopping later tonight.

I always thought that the GTPumps manifold was really only best for those upgrading from something pre-Evo 3, but from their site they state that it has enlarged runners, a enlarged outlet so it is not just a Evo 3 copy.

Runners are much bigger, here is my GT pumps next to my EVO2 manifold, I measured my spare EVO3 manifold and its the same size as the EVO1/2

Also a pic of the gasket against my 63t head

Jeeze there really is a bit of a difference when you see them side by side isnt there! That extra flow has got to help with spool up.

I am also liking the look of this intake pipe but I would need to move the battery to the boot and check that my airbox fits there(dont want to run a exposed pod).

if your still running the stock dump pipe i suggest getting an aftermarket or getting yours ported depending on how much you want to spend and what you prefer of course but it does help with spool and you gain abit more because of less backpressure.

I had a custom one made up when I replaced my exhaust, it sure did make quite a difference.

Just so you know, I havent ported my head, pushing out 256kw atw. Soon to be more. I went the larger turbo tho, t3/t4.

INtake pipe next for sure, the stock intake and box are really restrictive

how much boost are you running?

i have a gtpumps manifold and 20g turbo on my 3 it didnt make that much differance in power. I really wish i went with a 6boost manifold and 30/76r with .63 rear but alot of people were saying how good the 20g upgrade is. Each to there own i guess on how they like there power delivery

How much boost are you running?
Can you run more boost?
Can you rev the engine higher?
Is your intercooler efficient enough?
Is it a daily driver? If not, change to E85.

Changing the turbo and running the "same" boost and max rpm will increase your power output by.... bugger all.

run some bigger injectors, adjust those cams and retun,e that motor has soo much more in it. even with that turbo.

Running 16 PSI at the moment. It gets driven to work at times so don't really want to go down the E85 route unless it becomes more readily available.

more booooooooost!

your not even in the zone for a 16g. pump it to 20psi and the torque and power will come up nicely

Thats what I expected mate, I think all it really needs is injectors and to sort out this slight misfire on full load, leads and plugs suspected as they are looking a little old.

plugs and plug gaps are very important once the boost comes up a little.
And I have some new leads if you need some
